This latest look at NBC's Powerless features a riff on the classic "it's a bird... it's a place" Superman reference, as Crimson Fox's battle with a mysterious supervillain causes some problems for Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) and her pals. We then get some shots from the previous promo, as the team tries to come up with new ways to protect themselves against the city's super-powered individuals.

What do you guys make of this? Looking forward to Powerless?

In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

Powerless will premiere February 2nd on NBC.

As much as I would want this to be good, I'm seriously worried for this show. Of the three trailers we've seen (including the original pilot trailer), the majority of the "jokes" featured (if not all) have been extremely broad physical comedy gags of people getting hit by stuff, with the occasional obvious comic book reference thrown in. Even Big Bang Theory has actual proper jokes and comedic situations, and occasionally some generally obscure nerdy references that aren't totally insulting to all concerned.

Hopefully the trailers aren't reflective of the show's comedy, and that it develops quite quickly across it's first half-season run. Most comedy shows tend to take a while to find their feet, though most start from better positions than this.

@528491 - I'm worried that this'll be generic comedy as opposed to the more smart conceptual stuff we were promised.

@Doomsday8888 - The concept is so great though, I just hope they listen to feedback and make it something solid.
