Deadline reports that former Mad Men executive producers Andre and Maria Jacquemetton have teamed up with Gravity producer David Heyman for a new drama series based on the DC comic book DMZ at Syfy. According to the site, it's "set in the near future and centers on a young man trapped in Manhattan, which has been turned into a demilitarized zone (DMZ) after a second American civil war." The husband and wife duo have written the pilot. The Vertigo comic book series ran for a total of 72 issues between 2005 and 2012. It sounds like an intriguing premise, and with such a quality team behind it (David Heyman will produce), it's definitely another reason to be excited about DC's television takeover! Not familiar with this one, as I am more of the superhero comic book fan, so it really doesn't move me in any way...good or bad. The synopsis I just read sounds similar to Revolution without the loss of electricity.

Hopefully they get a decent budget for this show, and it doesn't end up looking cheap like almost everything else on SyFy.

DC this is starting to get out of hand. Just because its a comicbook doesn't mean it should get the tv treatment. Don't spread yourself to thin DC.

DC rules TV and Animation.

Ad money has more potential in the long run, that said the marketing landscape has changed. Good to hear more about DCE doing TV shows.

DC fans are spoiled. And they were here crying about not getting enough things DC related recently.

Well this is technically a Vertigo property not directly DC. I love DMZ and it's one of my favorite non marvel or dc comics. I always wanted to see it as a snow.
