DC Universe may be no more, but we found out late last year that one of the streaming service's best original series, Doom Patrol, would continue on HBO Max, and we now have our first major casting addition.
Scottish actress Michelle Gomez will be joining the upcoming third season in the recurring role of Madame Rouge. This take on the classic DC Comics villain is described as “a complicated and electrifying eccentric who arrives at Doom Manor with a very specific mission… if only she could remember it.”
Rouge was introduced in the pages of the Doom Patrol comic book back in the '60s as a French stage actress and master of disguise who went on to become a leading member of the Brotherhood of Evil.
Gomez appeared in Fox's Gotham, but will probably be best known for playing Madam Satan/Lilith in Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. More recently, she had a key role in HBO Max's The Flight Attendant.
Season 3 plot details are still under wraps, but Larry Trainor/Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Cliff Steele/Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), The Chief (Timothy Dalton), Victor Stone/Cyborg (Joivan Wade), and Dorothy Spinner (Abigail Shapiro) are all expected to return.
