There have been rumblings in the past that Legends of Tomorrow was originally going to feature the Golden Age version of Green Lantern, and season one concept art shared by Andy Poon confirms that we very nearly saw Alan Scott in The CW series.

While the series has become a full-blown comedy in recent years, it started off with a tone every bit as serious as shows like Arrow and The Flash, so it definitely would have been interesting seeing Green Lantern shake things up. Thanks to time-travel, we saw the Justice Society of America in Legends of Tomorrow early on, so that would have been the perfect way to introduce the hero.

As you may recall, Suits star Patrick Adam appeared in the season one finale as a mysterious DC Comics character who ended up being revealed as Rex Tyler/Hourman. However, Poon confirms that the actor was originally cast as Green Lantern, and this concept reveals how he would have looked!

The Arowverse has shied away from using characters from Green Lantern's corner of the DC Universe, but the series finale of Arrow did tease John Diggle finally getting a ring (a plot point it's believed will be explored in the upcoming Superman & Lois series).

Check out the concept art below:
