RUMOR: SUPERGIRL/THE FLASH Crossover; CONSTANTINE Joins LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Word is the cast of the CW's The Flash will appear on CBS's Supergirl next year, and John Constantine might just join the Legends Of Tomorrow.

Before you settle down to enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner, we have a couple of rumors that should make fans of DC TV very happy indeed... provided they're true, that is. Bleeding Cool reports that plans are in place for CBS to introduce the main cast of the CW's The Flash to Supergirl for a crossover episode scheduled for next May. The show was originally picked up for 13 episodes, but CBS has an option for a “back nine” to bring the season up to 22, and apparently they believe Supergirl will need the ratings boost a meeting with the Scarlet Speedster would no doubt provide.

Plus, their sources also tell them that Matt Ryan's John Constantine will join the second season of Legends Of Tomorrow in 2017. It seems the plan is to change up the roster and missions each season, and Ryan would be brought in as a series regular for the show's sophomore outing. Word is they are also looking to cast The Vampire Diaries' Steven R McQueen as a new, unnamed character for season 2.

Obviously it could be a while before we find out if any of this is on the level, but keep an eye out for any updates that might come our way.

I love the idea that it switches out members every season. That is an excellent way to keep the show constantly fresh and new.

Oh right on!
The more Matt Ryan Constantine, the better.
Perhaps they could do a Justice League Dark team.
Have Phantom Stranger leading them on their mission instead of Rip, or just put him on the team.

Flash got me to watching Arrow. Maybe he can do the same with Supergirl.

Constantine YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!

Supergirl crossover is definitely fake. That's a stretch. They've been saying they're not connected...there's been NO INDICATION they're the same universe. IS CBS THAT DESPERATE FOR RATINGS??!?

Heroes originally intended to switch out heroes, and then they crapped out on that idea which led to the series crapping out. I am hoping that Legends stick to that idea. There's so much depth in the DC universe that expanding it gives so many more options that WB can sell on other networks. Even to allow oneshots like a TV movie, or mini-series in the future.

Steven McQueen from Vampire Diaries eh?

Wonder where I heard that name before in relation to TV comicbook casting rumours....

Okay look I don't believe anything in this article will happen, BUT, if Supergirl gets a crossover with Flash then it confirms that Superman exists in this universe and so if he exists, why can't Batman? Thus I think its fair to say we could see Nightwing one day.

@ComicsBornAndBred Have you not been watching Flash? Its all about other "Earths" so all Flash has to do is travel to that Earth for one episode.

Supergirl crossover??? When BERLANTI amd KREISBERG have made it clear Flash and Supergirl are NOT connected....when no groundwork has been laid for a crossover or any narrative references have been presented to indicate that Supergirl and Flash occupy the same universe....

I can't say no to more Constantine! But I don't know if WB would allow to let a Constantine on TV while creating a new one for the big screen.

@Jcool it's still a stretch as the so far the only oher Earth they're capable of traveling to is Earth 2 and Supergirl hasn't been mentioned being in that universe. Seems like a stretch to help supergirl escape cancellation

@InfiniteMonkey if so, that's a damn shame man. Lackluster bullshit lol

@ComicsBornAndBred it is a comic book TV show where people fly, talking gorillas are villains and multiple people run faster then anything nothing is a stretch.

@Jcool narrative wise it is. No matter how fantastical everything is, you want to have everything make sense narrative wise. There's been no mention of her....it's an obvious ratings grab down through bad setup. I like your other earth idea but there has to be a justified reason behind finding this other world. With Zoom being the main baddie, idk, I hope they don't bite off more than they can chew. Focusing on zoom and setting up legends of tommorow, should be priority number one.

More than likely a false rumor, but I really wish the Constantine part is true. And I guess McQueen could pull off being Batman Beyond/Terry, would allow them to use Batman without actually using Batman, well Bruce Wayne anyway...

@StarKid2000 - Matt Ryan is what makes Constantine great. Why would you want him recast?

I think Supergirl is really trying to fight being cancelled. I don't believe this rumor, but I can believe this conversation has been had between producers...on the hush hush. Desperation could be kicking in and that breeds crazy ideas

Wait... it's November 26th, not April 1st... what's with the news I find too good to believe? Next thing you know, someone's going to start the rumor that Fantastic Four is back at Marvel again.

-I'd love for this to be true but won't get any hopes up till there's something official.

I've thought about this before, and with this season of flash being all about other earths, it doesn't matter that supergirl hasn't set up the fact that it's in the same world; because it can be a parallel world instead. They can just say one of the portals led there.

Also, everything about Constantine and nightwing in season 2 is awesome! Though, dang I was hoping for a straight up season 2 for Constantine on CW too.

I was 100% confident Constantine would be in season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow. Makes sense.

Could care less about the Supergirl/Flash crossover.
