LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: The Team Can't Lie In The New Promo & Photos For Season 4, Episode 10: "The Getaway"

Next week, with the Waverider commandeered, the Legends will be forced to go on the run after they somewhat inadvertently kidnap the President of the United States - and things only get worse from there.

In typical Legends fashion, things are about to go from bad to worse as the team not only find themselves without a ship, they also become fugitives from the law after they "accidentally" kidnap the President of the United States. As if that wasn't enough, it seems as though none of the team will be able to tell a lie throughout the next episode, which should lead to plenty of hilarity.

Meanwhile, Nate (Nick Zano), Zari (Tala Ashe), Nora (Courtney Ford), and Gary (Adam Tsekhman) go undercover to determine Hank's (Tom Wilson) real intentions.

"The Getaway" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DL) (HDTV)

WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH? - When Hank (guest star Tom Wilson) commandeers the Waverider in 1973, the Legends find themselves on the run in an RV after kidnapping the President who is only able to tell the truth. With the help of Constantine (Matt Ryan), they discover the reason that none of them can lie making for an uncomfortable family road trip. Meanwhile, Nate (Nick Zano) and Zari (Tala Ashe), with the help of Nora (Courtney Ford) and Gary (guest star Adam Tsekhman), work together to find out what Hank is really up to. Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Jes Macallan and Ramona Young also star. Viet Nguyen directed the episode written by Matthew Maala & Ubah Mohamed wrote the episode (#410). Original airdate 4/8/2019.

After defeating the demon Mallus by cuddling him to death with a giant stuffed animal named Beebo, the Legends are ready to ease off the gas. Sara and her team join Ava Sharpe and the Time Bureau to help clean up the last few remaining anachronisms. The job seems straightforward enough until Constantine arrives to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. History is now infected with "Fugitives" - magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends. Having been expelled throughout time by people like Constantine, these Fugitives are now returning to our world in droves and making a real mess of things. As the Time Bureau is distrustful of and ill-equipped to deal with magic, the Legends must team up with everyone's favorite demonologist to set history back on track.

Legends Of Tomorrow features:
Brandon Routh as Dr. Ray Palmer/The Atom
Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary
Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave

Amy Pemberton as Gideon

An alright episode, on the spectrum of decent/solid. It was however one of the weakest episodes of the entire season, and a big step down from the two episodes that preceded. Honestly didn't find the episode overall that memorable, so probably forgetting some stuff from my thoughts below.

I thought the best part of the episode was the middle, when the Legends return to Mexico to help that wrestler train and win. From the moment they return, until the end of the fight that breaks out, the episode was really good. I also liked the pairings this episode: Nate and Zari were great together, I could see them becoming a thing; Constantine and Charlie continue to be good; and Rory and Mona were good and interesting (though not really feeling those two becoming romantically involved, which I think is being set up). Didn't expect Mona to become a Kaupe too.

The rest of the episode, well I didn't care for it as much. Found the first half or so to be not that interesting. Didn't really care for Mona and the Konane, first episode where I was starting to get tired of Mona. And the Ava/Sarah stuff I personally found forced and unnecessary; it goes against pretty everything in terms of their relationship and how far they have come together, and the ending where they broke up was too soap opera-y.

And now for my rant: I'm disappointed that we essentially had no follow up to the Neron stuff. Yeah, he's briefly spotted and Nate and Zari are investigating Hank, but it was almost zero follow up. We have 7 episodes left this season; hope they don't wait too long to actually focus on the main plot. Next week looks like more of the same, so that means 6 episodes... They really need to stop with these average threat of the week episodes and actually get to the interesting stuff. This episode was largely more of the same of the first 7 episodes this season, and that's getting frankly a bit frustrating; best episode this season was episode 8. its getting increasingly more obvious that their indecision with who to make as the main villain has impacted the season's episodes, with a noticeable delay in getting to the important stuff.

I really, really hate that Legends is frustrating me and letting me down this season, and I hate having to complain about this show because of how much I've loved it. Its been one of the best comic book shows these past couple seasons, but this 'year' they've dropped the ball. From Constantine to Neron to threats of the week, its been a noticeable step down from previous years.

Sadly, I don't think Constantine should be a part of the team next year, if it were to mean that season 5 would be a similar quality to this season. That, that sentence right there is CRAZY for me to be saying. When it was announced a year ago that Constantine was becoming a regular this season, I was over the moon and freaking ecstatic, my dreams were finally coming true for Constantine being brought back as a regular on a series. But now, its obvious that the payoff has not been what it should have been. Unless they creatively change their approach to having Constantine on board, he needs to be left behind and appear for the occasional episode (outside of episode 8 this year, the best Legends episodes with Constantine were from season 3...), and instead CW needs to revive the Constantine solo series. Its the best outcome for both Legends and Constantine.

They focused too much on the relationship nonsense and not the nonsense nonsense. The Lucha stuff was great, at least.

@Reeds2Much - yeah that was good. Didn't care for it when they initially go to find Konane, but when the return to set history right, it was great.

I finally started to (re)watch the show from the beginning of S2, and it really is quite enjoyable. 😄
