The fourth episode of Peacemaker, "The Choad Less Traveled," saw the team continue trying to figure out the mystery surrounding those alien butterflies, but we certainly didn't see this coming.
As Adebayo continues her investigation, she unearths a lead and lets Murn know. However, we then learn that he's one of the aliens! Right now, we don't know when he became a butterfly or whose side he's on, but based on what happened last week, the A.R.G.U.S. agent could have sinister plans for Christopher Smith, Vigilante, and the rest of the team.
Elsewhere in this latest instalment, we learn that Matter-Eater Lad exists in the DC Extended Universe and that he once crossed paths with Peacemaker.
However, the biggest takeaway arguably came near the end of the episode when we saw more of the title character's awful childhood and the impact killing Rick Flag had on him. While Peacemaker isn't necessarily a redemption story for the former Task Force X member, James Gunn is clearly looking to help us better understand what makes Smith tick, proving he's not all bad in the process.
"Peacemaker quickly establishes itself as essential viewing for fans of The Suicide Squad," we said in our review of the series, "but it's a career-best performance from John Cena and the greatest opening credits of all time that will make sure you want to come back each week."
