PEACEMAKER's Penultimate Episode Features A Shocking Death And A Jaw-Dropping Cliffhanger - SPOILERS

The penultimate episode of Peacemaker arrived on HBO Max today, and it featured plenty of surprises and a major cliffhanger that set the stage for a bonkers final episode next Thursday. Check it out...

There were heaps of revelations to be found in today's episode of Peacemaker, including the truth behind what really happened to Christopher Smith's brother. It turns out his father would make them fight as children to entertain him and his fellow White Supremacists, but something went wrong during one fistfight and Chris' brother, Keith, accidentally died.

While it wasn't really Peacemaker's fault, this explains the White Dragon's irrational hatred for his son. The villain decided to put Christopher down once and for all in "Stop Dragon My Heart Around," and a clash between the two followed. Their confrontation ultimately led to the former Task Force X member shooting his dad in the head in another emotional moment in James Gunn's HBO Max series.

Elsewhere, poor Murn ended up being killed by his fellow Butterflies, but the team was reunited and set off together to put an end to the aliens' plan for world domination.

That led to Peacemaker's big reveal as we learned that the "cow" feeding the Butterflies is some sort of massive alien creature. Like the Butterflies, we can't link this monster (you can see it below) to anything or anyone from the DC Comics Universe. Considering Gunn likes to pull obscure characters from the comic books, it's a little surprising that he appears to have come up with original villains for the show.

What did you think about the penultimate episode of Peacemaker?

Dad got off too easy, wish he at least knew his son had the balls to do him in before he died! What a prick of a character.

Wasn’t that jaw dropping of a death. Felt like we knew it was coming. His dad was such an awful piece of shit. Even in his final seconds.

If you told me a month ago that Peacemaker would end up being one of the best comic book adpatations out there, I would've laughed in your face.

@Fares - while I don't necessarily disagree, I think it's best to wait for the ending. If the mcu shows taught me anything, it's that something can seem promising but fail to stick the landing.

@Origame - Oh yeah I definitely agree. I think the MCU shows' detriment was partially the need to set up something at the end, almost as if the whole show is an excuse for one moment (Wanda becoming Scarlet Witch, Sam becoming Cap, Loki opening up the multiverse, Introducing Kang/Kate/Kingpin)
What I love about Peacemaker is just James Gunn winging it. He had a cool, self-contained idea, and he convinced the studio to allow him to make it. So that's why I don't see how he can ruin it in the end. But you never know, fingers crossed.

@Fares - i would still laugh cauze its not true. I cant connect with the main character and thats a big no for me.

Jeight8 - 2/10/2022, 10:23 AM
@Origame - and those shwos are still better than most dc shows out there.

@Jeight8 - Well sorry to hear that it's not working for you mate. As for me, if they keep making stuff like Peacemaker, they'll only make me a happier guy.

@Fares - I'm not saying he'll ruin it, but the rumor has always been this will set something up.

@Jeight8 - really dude? Like, the only dc show I'm even comparing to the mcu shows is peacemaker, and that's just from the perspective that we can't judge the show as a whole until we see that final episode.

But since I know this'll get on your nerves, superman and lois is far and away better than any mcu show, and it's not even close.

@Jeight8 - also, who said a story needs you to connect with the main character?
Origame
Origame - 2/10/2022, 12:18 PM
@Fares - yeah. Fingers crossed.

And it definitely has a better chance given it's not really building to much, and is more just dumb fun.

@Origame - The problem with MCU shows is that they start strong, but go down around the middles of the series, so far Peacemaker kept the same level of quality, and there is only one episode left.

@Jeight8 - dude, superman, and Lois are one of the best DC series. just forget the DC legends, Flash and Titan. they are all crap.

I love me some good nazi killing in the morning. what an awful piece of sh*t his father was, that bullet in his brain was long overdue.

alas, poor Murn. BUT, I'd rather lose him than, say, Vigilante or Eagly.

@Spidey91 - I completely agree. I thought more could've been done with Murn but, at least we still got V&E

OT: is there any particular reason why the site seems to be a little slow on news this last couple days? no Boba Fett discussion, no Obi-Wan poster article, no LoTR series screenshots.

I’ve enjoyed this more as it’s gone on, this episode was the best one from a character and humor perspective imo. Also, if they kill Vigilante I will riot. He’s easily become my favorite DCEU character in the Post-Snyder continuity

This show is damn good! I'm so excited to see how they wrap this all up. I'm thinking Vigilante, Judomaster, or both will end up getting roped into "joining" Task Force X by the end of it all.
