Action-Packed SUPERGIRL Season 2 Set Video Shows Superman Battling A Kryptonite Powered Foe

The latest footage from the set of Supergirl features a very interesting alteration to the Man of Steel's costume as Superman heads into battle against a bad guy who looks an awful lot like Metallo.

As of right now, all we know is that Superman will appear in the first two episodes of Supergirl when it hits The CW this Fall. However, a new photo and video from the Vancouver set (via Spoiler TV) show off some very interesting action with the Man of Steel as he dons a modified costume while heading into battle against an unknown villain wearing some sort of glowing green device over his chest.

Chances are that this is Metallo in his human form, but it could just be some sort of random villain. That strange device over the symbol on his chest seems to be protecting Superman anyway as he deals with his foe pretty easily, but it will be interesting seeing how this factors into Supergirl when it airs later this year. Do you have any theories on what's happening here? Share your thoughts below.

TV Show Logic, Kryptonite effects Superman's who'll cellular structure. Better just cover up the S. Shit like this is my one big complaint about TV shows wrapping everything up so nicely. Flash does this sh!t way to much. Every solution they have is packaged in this cool little devise that always has this very over thought mass produced plastic look to it, where it looks like they took months coming up with some cool design to it. I know they play off that Cisco is a big pop culture nerd so it would make sense that he would want to make stuff look like that, but come one. you just spent the whole time just trying to get the devise to work, there is no way you had time to make it look this neat and well packaged. it would like like several other devices hobbled together because you were tying to save the day in as little time as possible.

@MurrCat - dude, the plot for this episode isn't out yet, what you smokin? i'm sure there is more to it, it's probably a force field with bad cgi. or some kind of bio regulator.

@ALostCause - I know but is still fits into that argument. Don't get me, still really enjoy the flash, but it is things like that, that take me out of it sometimes, and adds a level of silliness that allows some people (My Wife) to be able to say thees shows suck.

@MurrCat - ok can't argue with that. i was a huge fan of all these shows, would watch an episode or two a day, but silly science and soap opera bullshit led me to not even finish flash season 2.

i just thought you were jumping the gun a lil bit that's all lol

@ALostCause - it did appear like he was high as hell as he went deep into thought on the matter. Tbh it doesn't bother me since shows and movies are different

@BravoBoss - idk how many times ive taken a bong rip and went on some stupid comment rant...

totally understandable lol

@BravoBoss - It has nothing to do with comparing TV to movies. It's just a way to simple plot devise to some up the problems they have. It is lazy writing, and it is way to clean cut design. Super hero shows are not the only ones that fall victim of this, they are just the ones who use it way too much, if not always.

@MurrCat - I remember the JSA episode of Smallville and ask myself why they put Doctor Fate in a rubber suit (he's essentially a Wizard, they could have spent much less by giving him blue robes with the gold belt), why his helmet opened from behind with a silly CGI effect (even in the comics it doesn't do that) and why Sandman's mask was a plastic molded brightly coloured cosplay piece while in many comics it's a simple WWII style gas mask. They like that plastic-y feel I guess, I don't find other explanations.

@DetBullock - Try every thing else on the CW for examples. I'm not saying you have to go super realistic. But at the same time a lot of these Characters, do not have the resources of either a multi-million dollar fortune, or cutting edge scientific lab with expert medical professionals and engineers at their disposals so why would they have professionally designed and build suites/tools/weapons to use. I like what they did with Captain Cold and heat wave. The clothes that they either already had or could have bought/stole and the weapons they stole.

@DetBullock - I also agree with the Dr. Fate point. Why would an accent power manifest a modern suit, and not basically a toga/robes,or even Egyptian style armor or priest robes which would have been relevant to when that power was created.

BravoBoss - 8/5/2016, 11:17 AM
@ALostCause - lol the twist is actually I'm a pot head myself, I said it sounded like he was high just because I go deep into my thoughts when I'm high just like a lot of people. I thought it was funny actually.
