It looks like Henry Czerny (Mission: Impossible, Revenge) has booked a guest star role on the CBS Supergirl TV series as Winslow Schott Sr., AKA the Toyman. Fans expected the character played by Jeremy Jordan to become this villain at some point down the line, and though he may still go bad an take up the mantle of Toyman, his father will be the original.

Here's how Warner Bros. described this take on the classic Superman baddie to Comicbook.com: "Winslow Schott, Sr. is a classic D.C. supervillain, a mad criminal genius known as Toyman – and Winn’s estranged father. Toyman weaponizes toys to wreak destruction and revenge but is ultimately driven by one thing – the obsessive desire to reunite with his beloved son"

Supergirl
premieres tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, amnd though we don't have word on which specific episode Czernt will appear in, we do know that so far he's only down for the one.

So the ol' evil parent "Sr." route so you can keep the son good until he turns bad down the road...

HAHAHAHA!!! Wow... I called this as SOON as it was revealed that "Winn Schott" was gonna be a twenty-something young man pining for Kara's affections.

After all, look at Berlanti's track record: first we got Tommy Merlyn (son of Malcolm Merlyn, who turned out to be Oliver's actual arch enemy), and then we got Eddie Thawne (ancestor of Eobard Thawne, the actual Reverse-Flash). This is what these shows do-- introduce a young supporting character with close familial ties to the main villain.

But considering what happened to both Tommy and Eddie... I wouldn't get too attached to Winn if I were you.

Patrick Warburton and Julia Louis-Dreyfus should be cast as Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively.

@Brainiac13 Most of Timm's interpretations of villains and even re-imaging of villains are the best. Toyman is no exception and a villain that needed it.

Agreed, Bruce Timm's Toyman is hella creepy and is the best version.
He feels more like a Batman villain in the animated series.

Toyman is probably one of the worst villains ever. He's also a pedophile which is another reason I probably hate him.

The writing on the season premiere was drivel and unoriginal, ripping plot points from past Superman films and stringing them together with plot holes

Good, because the Winslow Schott that works with Supergirl would've have been a terrible Toyman. Toyman and Metallo are my favourite Superman villains.
