The Girl Of Steel Visits Another World In Synopsis For Kevin Smith's Episode Of SUPERGIRL

After taking the helm of two episodes of The Flash last year, Kevin Smith returns to the DC TV Universe this month for "Supergirl Lives" as the Girl of Steel and Mon-El are transported to another planet!

Kevin Smith has done some stellar work in the DC TV Universe, and excitement for his take on Supergirl is at an all-time high as a result. As you can see below, this is clearly going to be a big episode as both the Girl of Steel and Mon-El are transported to a planet with a red sun (leaving them powerless) where returning villain Roulette is clearly having a whale of a time pitting all sorts of aliens against each other.

It doesn't sound like "Supergirl Lives" is a game changer in the same way as Smith's episodes of The Flash, but it should still be fun, especially as this is the first time Kara has encountered a red sun.

KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS; ROULETTE RETURNS — Kara (Melissa Benoist) is moved by the story of a missing woman named Izzy (guest star Harley Quinn Smith) and decides to investigate despite Snapper Carr’s (guest star Ian Gomez) order to leave it alone. Kara takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) with her to the last place Izzy was seen and the duo find themselves thrust through a portal to another planet, Slaver’s Moon, where the downtrodden are sold as slaves. The leader of the trafficking ring is none other than Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman). To make matters worse, Slaver’s Moon has a red sun, which means Kara and Mon-El are stripped of their powers and stuck on the planet with no way home. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Alex (Chyler Leigh) blames herself for Kara’s disappearance, fearing she’s become too focused on her new relationship with Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) and too complacent in watching out for her sister. Kevin Smith directed the episode with story by Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Eric Carrasco & Jess Kardos.

What are you most excited about seeing in this episode of Supergirl when it returns to The CW on January 23rd. As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this synopsis in the usual place...

As much as I love Supergirl and Kevin Smith (especially his Green Arrow run), I opened this for Martian Manhunter. Can't get enough of him on that show.

Kinda defeating the whole "girl power" angle of the show by buying
Benoist "some boobs"

That would turn this version of Kara into just another fanboy sex pot.
