The Identity Of Chris Wood's DC Comics Character In SUPERGIRL May Have Been Revealed

Remember that pod that crash landed to Earth in the season one finale of Supergirl? Well, a new report claims that Chris Wood is playing the character within and it's someone familiar to comic fans...

A few days ago, The Vampire Diaries alum Chris Wood was cast in Supergirl as a mystery character from the comic books. There's since been a lot of speculation about who he might be playing (and we may very well get an answer at this evening's Comic-Con panel for the show), but Bleeding Cool claims to have learned his identity. Apparently, it was Mon-El who was in the pod that crash landed to Earth.

A member of the Legion of Superheroes, Mon was initially mistaken for a Kryptonian by Superboy in the source material before it was revealed that he was actually a member of the Daxamite race. He's also served as part of both the Green Lantern Corps and Justice League, and while his history with Supergirl is a little on the thin side, there's obviously a lot which can be done with a character like this.

We'll have to wait and see whether or not this is made official, but there's no denying that Mon-El is going to be a pretty interesting addition to Supergirl during the show's upcoming second season.

Omg! Since 1980, he has been my favorite character in all of comics. This to me is the greatest thing ever to come out of comic con.

I always liked the Daxamite thing. Them being an offshoot of the Kryptonians. Descendents. More mythology, I love it!

Pfffttt, please...He's clearly Hal Jordan. Any brown-haired, white male is Hal Jordan in the CW universe.

How accurate is Bleeding Cool on this kind of stuff? The reason I ask is because of their other rumor that has Batwoman, Oracle and Constantine being a part of the Arrowverse or returning to it.

If this rumor turns out true about Mon-El should I believe the other rumor will be true too?
