THE FLASH: Check Out That SPOILERY Twist Ending From Last Night's Season 3 Finale

After Barry Allen's conclusive battle with Savitar, last night's season finale of The Flash delivered a major shakeup going into season 4! Check out the season's final scene after the jump!

Last night's season finale of The Flash wasted no time in revealing that Iris West didn't die at the hands of Savitar, but that H.R. used his transmogrifier to take her place. While this effectively altered the foreboding future in which Barry became Savitar, the villain wasn't through with his plan to become a "speed god". In order to defeat him, Barry freed Jay Garrick from his Speed Force prison, with Team Flash squaring off against Savitar and Killer Frost. Barry finally ended up defeating his evil time remnant, though it was Iris who truly ended the threat by shooting and killing Savitar.

While it seemed like everything was at peace again, Central City was hit by a violent storm; the Speed Force was calling for an occupant after Jay was freed. A breach portal opened, revealing Barry's mother Nora as a manifestation of the Speed Force, beckoning to Barry to join it. After realizing his time was up, Barry bid farewell to his friends and Iris and took his mother's hand, walking into the Speed Force and disappearing as the breach closed.

While there's no indication as to where this leaves the show for season 4, it's quite likely that Barry will return and this ending serves as a thematic conclusion for all of Barry's meddling with time. What did you think of the finale? Let us know in the comments!

The Flash will return for its fourth season in Fall 2017.

@MexicanCipher - Why so much hate, i dont understand. It was really good, yes sometimes it didnt work, but in general i would say it was way better that S2 shitfest...

@AleSir19 - Season 2 ending was mysterious and foreboding. It really showed how far flash had fallen, it was his crucible.

Season 3 ending will lead to nothing.

@MexicanCipher - I would never be so bold as to call it the worst hour of television ever produced, but it probably was the worst I've ever bothered to watch from start to finish. I'm not even sure what to say. I don't know how to criticize something this bad. To criticize it implies that they made enough sense for me to define what they actually did and say they shouldn't have done that. The vastness of the badness here was so staggering and undefinable that you can only really say "everything about it sucked".

@MexicanCipher - yep, completely underwhelming finalie. And while I don't normally mind bait and switch moves that much, I hated this one with Iris and it just feels very cheap.

@MexicanCipher - Men, Season 2 was a piece of shit, the people always say that Zoom was a great villain, but that isnt true, Zoom was a piece of shit villain, his suit was cool, the voice was cool until Episode 12-13 the guy was scary.

But Zoom plot was overall simple and boring, without too much going on and after Episode 18 where he won and took Barry powers, the show and Zoom go to shit, making stupid things that made zero sense.

Zoom plot twist of Being Jay Garrick/Hunter Zolomon was even worst.

Why Season 2 final Episode is a piece of shit? Because it destroy all the Development of Character of Barry, it made Barry seen like a useless bastard piece of shit with zero coherence, common sense and responsability.

While Season 1 was all around Barry finally accepting his mother death and letting his past behind, because he cant change what happen and he needs to live with it a move forward.

Season 2 destroy all the character development made to Barry in S1, Barry was stupid, Barry didnt care for other people, only for himself and even worst, after Barry accepted his mother death in S1, here in S2 the writers erased all that development made to the character and he was angry about it again, so everything they build in S1 was for nothing.

S2 Thematically was about what Barry could had become if he didnt had a father figure in his life or someone who love him when he was that little kid scare by his mother death.

Zoom became a serial killer and wanted power and control at any cost because he didnt had no one there for him, he was a dark mirror of Barry.

And S2 was all about Barry being prove over and over again with really hard moral choices if he would become like Zoom or not, if he would cheat the Speedforce and use V9, if he would be able to kill and stop caring about others for his own benefit.

And there is were S2 fail, because Barry lost the fight, Barry at the end of season became just like Zoom. He created Time Remnants without thinking about the consequences and even worst he destroy everyone lifes for his own pleasure.

So that is why S2 at less for me is such a piece of shit, not only because they destroy such a great character like Zoom, making him the cliche bad guy with moustache who wants power for the sake of it, wants world domination for the sake of it, kidnaps the Blonde Girl for the sake of it and even worst tries to the destroy the Multiverse for the sake of it.

Also in S2 the characters Arcs are really bad, Caitlin is just an object useless, Iris the same, Joe sometimes is great, Henry goes to shit, Barry goes to shit, Caitlin and Cisco are afraid of become evil Metahumans and his powers, Wally is complaining all the time and he and Jessie never got his powers.

Season 3 ending maybe doesnt lead to anything, but it does fix all the mistakes of Season 2, they just cant make such a piece of shit Season and later let his character walk away freely.

Because it would have been worst, Barry paying his mistakes, every single one of them is a great theme, S3 was better written in that sense than S2, because while S2 isnt consistent, S3 it is.

S3 filler episodes are boring and Savitar is missing also a lot of people hates Savitar for the sake of hating him, but for me he is a better villain than Zoom, because while Zoom was a kind of dark mirror of Barry, he didnt had any layers, he became just a stupid cliche villain seeking power, Future Barry it has so much layers and wasted potential.

So i would say S3 is better than S2, in terms of Characters Arc, Main Story and Themes, but the filler episodes and the structure are just boring.

@CMgeek - one of my favorite things back in the day was the "Previously on Digimon..." segment that began the episodes. I never watched the show, but I believe that Fox aired it after the Batman/Superman animated series and the sheer amount of concentrated nonsense that the announcer would breathlessly sum up before I changed the channel was hilarious.

@CMgeek - I agree. I stopped watching this steaming pile and have just been reading these articles, which always confirm that for me, I made the right decision. And it's a shame, because I was so surprised I liked this show when it first aired, and now I am done with it.

These shows have waaaaaaaaay too many episodes per season. They waste possibly great villains as the "freak of the week" just as filler episodes (remember what they did to Shade? Dude could have been a season long baddie in the hands of the proper writer), and they create needless plot lines for an ever-increasing number of supporting cast members.

Simple solution: Fall season and Spring season. They almost do it now anyway, so they wouldn't have to change shooting or scheduling (too much?). Trim the fat, keep one story arc and one main villain for 14 episodes... one in Fall and one in Spring.

Added bonus... if it sucks in the Fall, it's done and they have a clean slate for the Spring!

@TomSolo - I remember what they did to Shade. They ruined his character and made him a copycat of a villain from the Green Lantern movie...ONLY WORSE. If we had a season of him, I'd never have kept watching the show.

TomSolo - 5/24/2017, 5:58 PM
@GAThrawnIGF - Right? Depending on the version of Shade, he could have easily been the main villain of an entire season. Instead, they gave us 3 seasons in a row of Evil Flashes and Barry needing to be faster than them. Unbelievably lazy.

I f*cking love the movie.

But a movie has its limits.
But on a tv show you have more time and can do many things, only problem is the budget, but since we're talking about HBO...

@Doomsday8888 - it's a good movie 7/10. still holds up. not many cbm still holds up. most of them are barely watchable this days. still, Watchmen have another problem. it's not a crowd pleaser and it never meant to be.

As someone who stopped watching at the end of Season 2, reading this was just hilarious.

I am SO glad I stopped watching it. This synopsis looks like a cheesefest nonsense.
