THE FLASH Season 8 Poster Sees Barry Allen Suit Up Ahead Of Next Month's New Episodes

The CW has released a new poster for The Flash season 8 ahead of its return, and it puts Grant Gustin's Scarlet Speedster front and centre. Check it out, and the synopsis for the next episode, here.

The Flash returned to The CW last November with the five-part "Armageddon" event, wrapping up on December 14 and going on hiatus until next month. Now, the small screen Scarlet Speedster is finally set to return on March 9 with an episode titled "Impulsive Excessive Disorder."

To mark the occasion, a new poster for the show has been released that puts the spotlight on Grant Gustin's Barry Allen. His costume, while not quite as eye-catching as the one worn by Ezra Miller in this November's The Flash movie, has made a lot of fans very happy and does look great in action.

Last month, we learned that Gustin is close to signing up for a 15-episode ninth season. That would make it the shortest episode of The Flash to date, and it's been widely speculated that it will end the show (Arrow's final season consisted of only ten episodes). Either way, the actor has reportedly secured a $200,000 per episode deal, so he might want to consider sticking around a little longer!

"Picking up where season 7 left off, after returning home from a visit for their parent’s vow renewal," reads the synopsis for the next episode, "Bart (guest star Jordan Fisher) and Nora (guest star Jessica Parker Kennedy) quickly realize that things are not exactly as they left them. The duo race to repair any fissures in the timeline and restore everything back to the way it is supposed to be."

As noted, The Flash season 8 returns to The CW on Wednesday, March 9.

Grant doesn’t have the physique to pull off the hands on the hips pose.

Comic book Flash poster: “Let’s have Barry in an extreme runner’s pose while he dodges gunfire from attack helicopters which are chasing him across the ocean!”

TV Flash Poster: “I dunno. Just have Barry standing there, with his mask off, and with his hands on his hips like a disappointed parent. We’ll Photoshop-in some lightning later.”

@santoanderson - I mean we USED to have posters like that from the show, but everything about the show feels like it's getting lazier each season. Just watch a clip of Barry running in season 1 vs now.

Not running but I always loved this poster

@KelvTwelve - I miss those extra promo posters, but they used budget too so if they can save it for the episodes I am fine with not having much of them.

I disagree about the running being lazy now.

@NinnesMBC - I wasn't talking about the CGI running.

@KelvTwelve - Well in that case that's a much better example than what I posted, it blends practical and CGI which is what they've done most of the show's run.

I'd say this is = if not better than what Smallville managed to achieve on its run, dodging a cancellation each season.

That show was not perfect but dam was it exciting every week to get that much more ok Clark getting closer to Superman.

Now as a man child I'm so spoiled for choice. It'd just nice to acknowledge where it started. Salud!

Someone help me out here... does his suit really have lightning bolts all over it like that? Looks like what something a figure skater would wear.

@Mansuper - No, is just the effect of the Speed Force channeling within him, it has happened a couple of times in the show.

Meh. Not sure I'll resume watching it. Nora is probably the worst character ever introduced on this show, and she and Bart were terrible together towards the end of season 7. I gave up on Legends, mise as well stop wasting my time with Flash.

Better suit ,Better theme tune. They actually had Barry working in the lab with Julio Mendez doing some forensic work and not being over saturated with a thousand speedsters and everyone getting super powers.

@Model101 - I love the JWS show but it also got more wrong about the Flash than it got right.
Model101
Model101 - 2/26/2022, 1:17 PM
@ElricReturns - Wrong or right , we can debate about the differences but the 90's show was far less cookie cutter.

Different comic Book writers/Film or TV show directors etc have different interpretations of Said character but the basics are there ,Forensic/Scientist/Detective -Check, runs fast -check, red suit -check, name is Barry Allen -check .

I watched the first season of this 'New' flash got to the second season and realised it was like every other CW Show which is lame af bar Superman and Louis. Just my opinion.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 2/26/2022, 1:47 PM
@Model101 - The tune is good for the 90s when they were trying to make it take place within Tim Burton's universe established in Batman but it would feel out of place today. And those "thousand speedsters" are just recurring characters, not regular ones. The same goes for "everyone getting super powers", if you introduce a canon character from the comics that has abilities, you ignore that development or you actually go for it?
ElricReturns
ElricReturns - 2/26/2022, 2:16 PM
@Model101 - all of those checks apply to the current Flash too.

Model101
Model101 - 2/26/2022, 2:51 PM
@NinnesMBC - LMAO.

Argue about what? The new show is rubbish in my opinion and I already made my Point, the new show IS RU-BB-ISH.

Music ,oversaturation of speedsters, everyone /supporting cast all having super powers and the focus being taken away from Barry.
Bringing his kids into the show blah blah blah. I've seen some of the trailers for upcoming seasons.

Listen, if you want an argument, turn around and face a wall. And listen good ,if you have a problem over some ones opinions, you got problems.
