New TITANS Image Reveals A First Look At The Superhero Team Assembled

Well, it's not much of a team: there's only four of them! Regardless, fans of the Teen Titans will no doubt have something to say about this first look at Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, and Starfire together...

In the first trailer for Titans, there was no sign of the team together but that finally changes thanks to this still released by Entertainment Weekly. According to Geoff Johns, moving the show to the DC Universe streaming service presented "an opportunity do less of a conventional procedural show and more of a 12-hour movie. We could focus in more on character and push the envelope, in terms of content." Well, that explains Robin's "F*** Batman!" line in that divisive preview released during SDCC.

Unfortunately, this approach means that we're going to have to be patient when it comes to seeing the young heroes come together and even when they do, it appears as if it will only be a four-person team!

"My favorite scenes [were] fighting [alongside] those guys because, one, I feel like the actors that were cast were all brilliant and lovely to work with, and we all got along really well," says star Brenton Thwaites. "But also, the scenes were quite difficult and [we had] night shoots in the winter in the snow, so I feel like that camaraderie just in the actors alone hopefully transfers to the TV."

It's certainly a pretty interesting looking group. There's Beast Boy, Raven, Robin, and Starfire, a character who quite clearly will be sticking with that divisive costume for a good chunk of the series.

What do you guys think of this first look at the Titans together? Let us know your thoughts below.

The actually look fine all together like this. If it had a better trailer I'd be looking forward to it.

@RorMachine - My first impression of this picture: "Who are all these people standing around Robin?"

Ain't nobody got time for this, WB needs to confirm what's going on with Superman

@duncboy - oh... that's a good point.

For all the marketing they should be putting into this to ensure it's success, all they've done is distract any and all attention away from it.
Guaranteeing it will fail, and eventually someone will ask "there was a Teen Titans show?"

Didn't they say Starfire would only dress like a hooker for one scene?

@Benjamitesandwich - I think it's clear this was the way they conceived her character, and... it's just not working for me.

On paper, I understand it. Starfire has been a mess of exploited sexuality in the comics. This is a way to address that, and even to own it. But it just feels like a Jared Leto Joker situation where it's just wrongheaded premise.

@Spock0Clock - Yea, they clearly chose to take on the sexualized "adult" version of Starfire, but I've never liked that version. Pity.
