TITANS Live-Action DC TV Series Will Feature The Doom Patrol Confirms Writer Geoff Johns

Geoff Johns has taken to Twitter to confirm that the "freaks, outcasts, and social misfits" that make up The Doom Patrol will indeed appear on the upcoming live-action Titans series. More past the jump...

Following some vague teases over the last few months, Geoff Johns has confirmed that The Doom Patrol will be introduced during the live-action Titans series.

Johns shared the script page below, revealing that episode 5 will actually be named after the superhero team, which is made up of some of the more out-there characters in the DC Universe. In the comics, the original lineup included Beast Boy, Elasti-Girl, Mento, Negative Man, and Robotman; with the manipulative Chief pulling the strings.

We know Beast Boy will be a part of the main Titans roster, but it remains to be seen if any of those other guys show up.

Titans is set to premiere later this year on DC's new streaming service.

I need to see how they will pull off Starfire's look.

They might as well have another actor cast as Cyborg too.

@KiddSoul - "They might as well have another actor cast as Cyborg too."

That won't likely happen because DC/WB believe that the general public is too stupid to differentiate a character/actor on a TV show from that same character in a film. Its why they've pretty much forced the Arrowverse to not use major characters, with Barry Allen being the major exception.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I thought they somewhat walked that rule back allowing Superman, Deathstroke and Flash to appear in the Arrowverse. Maybe they still haven't made up their mind about how far they want to go with it.

@Nightwing1015 - Do you currently see Superman or Deathstroke in the shows? NOPE. They brought Deathstroke back only for DC/WB to tell them they had to take him out again since they are working on a solo Deathstroke film.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Yeah exactly. They should clearly make up their mind and be done with it.

@HeavyMetal4Life -
Is that why they have possibly 3 Jokers running around?

@HeavyMetal4Life -
Superman shows up in Supergirl sporadically, and as he's not the star...
Deathstroke can actually show up in Arrow, but the plan was spin him off into his own show and WB said no. His story arc in Arrow is over.
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 2/9/2018, 4:08 PM
@Battabing - No, that's not true regarding Superman or Deathstroke. They planned to have Deathstroke have a pretty prominant role this season, it is very evident that was the case from everything they set up. But then the Deathstroke movie was announced and they were told they had to take him off air again. The showrunner and Manu Bennet have gone on record saying this was the case. Its a shame because you can see they had planned so much more for him. And Superman has yet to show up this season (even though they include him in the intro for each episode).

I have no idea what they're doing with the Jokers.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Technically this year there shouldn't be a restriction for Superman appearing in say this year's next crossover because the only DCEU movie coming out is in December and it'll be Aquaman. Unless they want to be selfish and use Superman in a post credit scene though. So no point in banning Supes for the Arrowverse's crossover later this year.

Sucks about Deathstroke indeed.

@NinnesMBC - It just makes no sense for Superman. First, remove his part of the intro from each episode. But second, there is no way Superman would remain silent with multiple Worldkillers on the loose; so from a narrative standpoint, its stupid.

Really pissed about Deathstroke. Some of the best moments from this season were with him. His two centric episodes were awesome. Perhaps the show will surprise us and have him come back at the end of the season and help Oliver fight off Dragon.

@HeavyMetal4Life - For this I always know what the answer would be; the scale of the threat still hasn't reached the level of the Daxamite invasion where the whole Earth was in danger. He did try to help when Non launched Myriad so it's not like within the context he doesn't care. And Metropolis need him but I do agree having him just in case in the finale would be logical.

I think his deserves a comeback now that there's been a shift, the occasion merits it. And seeing Slade and Oliver fighting Dragon could be the best way to top last year's finale. Pretty excited about Kirk Acevedo's role now.

Weird. I love the Doom Patrol so cool I guess. But just go ahead and make a Doom Patrol show. If you actually want me to subscribe to this streaming service you are going to need more than just what I’ve heard so far.

Man I'm really looking forward to this version of the live action tv DCU. Gotham is very hammy and Arrowverse is starting to go in circles (Except for the beautiful ridiculousness of Legends) So hopefully this show will bring a more cinematic look and feel to a live action DCU
