For may DC Comics fans, Titans went downhill after season 1, and despite the recent third season loosely (maybe that was part of the problem?) adapting elements from classic Batman tales Under the Red Hood and A Death in the Family, the show didn't do much to win viewers over.
Mixed/negative responses aside, HBO Max is moving forward with a fourth season, and The Illuminerdi is now claiming that a classic Superman villain will be making his presence felt.
According to the site, Lex Luthor will make his debut early on in the season. Details of this latest live-action take on the character are few and far between, but the report adds that he "will be 40 or older, and his appearance is intended to be memorable." We'll have to take this a rumor for the time being, but it's worth noting that the Illuminerdi broke the news that Joseph Morgan, Frank Potenta and Lisa Ambalavanar would be playing Brother Blood, Mother Mayhem, and Jinx before the trades made it official.
How Luthor will be introduced is also unclear, but we assume it will have something to do with Superboy's arc.
Superman's arch nemesis has been brought to life by numerous actors over the years, most recently by Jon Cryer in The CW's Arrowverse. We hope Titans will do this iconic villain justice, but after the way the show handled The Joker, we'd understand of skepticism was high!
