The first official trailer for the new season of American Horror Story, this season titled: Cult, has been unleashed. Watching it, it looks like many familiar faces will return!
This season seems to star a lesbian couple with a young son, one of which played by Sara Paulson has a debilitating fear of clowns, and a psychotic blue haired and wild eyed man played by Even Peters who appears to be a cultist or cult leader. The trailer shows each of the main characters reactions to election night, and it seems the show will be playing up their opposite sides on the political spectrum. Sara Paulson, playing the woman with the fear of clowns, is horrified throughout the trailer first by the elections results, then by hallucinations, or possible real, evil clowns. We get a cameo from fan favorite villain: Twisty the clown.
Meanwhile Peters' character is thrilled, performing a sexual act on his tv and apparently later trying to drive Paulson's character insane.
All in all, the show looks entertaining, and horrifying. The mash up of clowns, cultists, and politics is strange, but DEFINITLY could work and enhance the horror.
