THE STRAIN: New "The Story" And "The World" Featurettes Released
Two new featurettes for Guillermo del Toro's The Strain have been released, and they take us behind the scenes of both the plot of the series and how the team working on it went about building this world.
“The Strain” is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
Based on a trilogy of novels (which were later turned into a Dark Horse comic book series) from Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro and author Chuck Hogan, the small screen adaptation of The Strain is set to debut on FX this July. The first season will consist of 13 episodes, and Del toro will direct and co-write the pilot alongside Hogan. Former Lost co-showrunner Carlton Cuse is set to run the series and executive produce.
