First Teaser Trailer And Images From HBO's FAHRENHEIT 451 Are Coming In Hot

HBO has provided us with a first look at their upcoming movie adaptation of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, a classic novel about a future America that's eerily similar to the events unfolding today.

Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury's 1953 dystopian novel about a future American society where books are outlawed and "firemen" burn any that are found, is being adapted into a movie by HBO, and today the studio provided us with a first look at the project courtesy of a teaser trailer and promotional stills. The trailer only teases the basic premise of the story, as it shows a copy of Crime and Punishment set on fire atop a pile of burning books - Lolita and Things Fall Apart among them. It then shows a "fireman" torching them.

HBO Films presents Fahrenheit 451. In a terrifying care-free future, a young man, Guy Montag, whose job as a fireman is to burn all books, questions his actions after meeting a young girl...and begins to rebel against society. Starring Michael B. Jordan, and Michael Shannon. Coming Soon.

Michael B. Jordan portrays Guy Montag, "a young fireman who forsakes his world and struggles to regain his humanity as he battles his mentor, fire captain Beatty," who is played by Michael Shannon. Sofia Boutella stars as Clarisse, "an informant caught between the competing interests of Montag and Beatty." A batch of promotional stills gives us a better look at all three characters.

One only needs to look at the current political and social climate to realize the theme's of technology, reading, and censorship in Bradbury's novel have become alarmingly relevant, so you could say HBO telling of Fahrenheit 451 is coming at the perfect time. The film is set to debut exclusively on HBO this spring.
