Still quite a while to wait for HBO's Fantasy Drama series to hit our shelves for home viewing, but here we have an early look at the packaging and a full list of the great special features and extras..

Anatomy of an Episode: An in-episode experience that explores the creative minds and colossal efforts behind episode six, “A Golden Crown”.

In-Episode Guide: In-feature resource that provides background information about on-screen characters, locations, and relevant histories while each episode plays.

Hidden Dragon Eggs: Find the hidden dragon eggs to uncover even more never-before-seen content.

ALSO INCLUDED:

Making Game of Thrones: An exclusive 30-minute feature including never-before-seen footage from the set and interview from the cast and crew.

Creating the Show Open: An inside look at the creation of the Emmy-winning opening title sequence for Game of Thrones

From the Book to the Screen: Executive producers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, and author George R.R. Martin talk about the challenge of bringing Martin’s epic fantasy novel to life on HBO.

Character Profiles: Profiles of 15 major characters as described by the actors portraying them.

The Night’s Watch: An in-depth look at the unique order of men who patrol and protect the Wall, a 700-foot ice structure that separates the Seven Kingdoms from the darkness beyond.

Creating the Dothraki Language: An insightful glance into the comprehensive language created for the Dothraki people in Game of Thrones.

Audio Commentaries: Seven audio commentaries with Cast and Crew including David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, George R.R. Martin, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, and more.

Quite a jam packed set of extras there. I would have to say I'm most looking forward to the commentaries. The Blu-ray and DVD sets will be released on March 20th. Yes, MARCH. 9 months after the final episode of season 1 aired. Seems to be HBO's thing to make fans wait until the second season is almost upon us to let us see the first again. Anyway, something to look forward to.

I hate when they do that, the show ended months ago and is sourced from HiDef so why isn't the BluRay available before christmas when people will be spending their cash?

We have films and tv shows that came out months after this, and they;re already on Home Video before GoT!!

SLACK!

Kaal Drogo (or however its spelt) was a criminal waste of character - why the hell did he have to die in episode 1 going out some punkass-way of blood poisoning.

He didn't die from blood poisoning. That isn't even what made him sick! You guys watched the show right?

Actually, if we're being technical here Thrones fans...
Daenerys killed Khal Drogo to put him out of his misery after the witch slave eff'ed him up with her dark ritual with the horse blood and turned him into a vegatable.

I'm so glad i'm already familiar with the series. You guys fail in giving spoilers. FAIL. You should all be slapped. Not everyone has had the opportunity to watch the series (especially considering the lengthy wait time on the release), or read the books. Shameful!

I totally want this box set, though.

Sarah, I agree..kinda. But I think after this long you should really expect6 a few spoilers if you are going to be clicking on an article about a show that finished up so long ago. But yeah, at least a SPOILER tag I guess

Agreed Ror, it's to be expected, but spoiler tags are indeed nice. That particular spoiler set me off because it's such an unexpected part of the series that IMO it's worth being kept secret.

Definitely one of the best shows we have! A friend gave me the books after I told her how much I loved the show, and I'm halfway through Clash of Kings now. Great stuff, can't wait for season 2!

@SirPrize Rome did have an ending. They did not leave us hanging they knew before season 2 started filming it would be the last because it cost to much at the time so they gave it an ending.
