"Jon Snow, Ygritte and the Wildlings climb the Wall, triggering a devastating ice slide. Comprised of over 80 shots, Spin created a 700′ ft wall, a couple miles in length (real world scale) that would hold up from any distance and any angle. Spin then simulated the entire ice slide event, shooting it from all cameras set up in the sequence that created a sense of scale and continuity over the sequence, playing out the action in real time." - Spin VFX

In the third season of the hit HBO® drama series Game of Thrones, the Lannisters are barely holding onto power after a savage naval onslaught from Stannis Baratheon, while stirrings in the North threaten to alter the overall balance of power in Westeros. Robb Stark, King in the North, is facing major calamity in his efforts to build on his victories over the Lannisters while beyond the Wall, Mance Rayder (played by Ciarian Hinds) and his huge army of wildlings continue their inexorable march south. Across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen - reunited with her three fast-maturing dragons - attempts to raise an army to sail with her from Essos, in hopes of eventually claiming the Iron Throne.

Jokes aside, was a pretty cool behind the scenes vid. Love the large majority of practical effects as well as the CGI.

Apart from the GIF being in poor taste, why ruin the season's climax?

@JediPhilosopher that's really sad but you can't put every station into the same basket just becuase Lost failed you...and many others.

HBO usually does great shows and this one is based on books so ending will be connected to the books. Watch "The Wire" it's slow at first but it's a great show and maybe it will restore your faith :)
