Jerome Flynn Teases 'Bronn's Role In GAME OF THRONES Season 5

In a video interview with Flicks And The City, Jerome Flynn (Ripper Street) discusses his fan-fave character Bronn. He talks about his favourite scene to shoot in season 4, why Bronn refused to fight The Mountain, and if he thinks he'll run into Tyrion again at some point in season 5.

At the point we're at in George R.R. Martin's Song Of Ice And Fire saga, Bronn is no longer a factor in the story. After declining to stand for Tyrion and take on the Mountain in the trial by combat, Ser Bronn of the Blackwater marries Lollys Stokeworth and settles down. Though he's mentioned again in later books, he's yet to reappear. That will not be the case in season 5 of the HBO series however, as leaked set images prove that actor Jerome Flynn is back, and Bronn will be joining Jaimie Lannister on his trip to Dorne. In the following video interview, Flynn remains tight lipped about Bronn's exact role in this upcoming season, but he does say he hopes the exceptionally skilled sell-sword will still get Tyrion "out of a scrape somewhere down the line".

Why keep around characters that aren't needed when there are so many others that are essential to the story. I don't understand what they are doing.

@SHAFTzro sounds like Jamie Riverlands arc is being cut or shortened (maybe he goes there after Dorne)

I've read up to Dance with Dragons (working on that one now) and I can see where they can write Bronn into next season even though he's only mentioned at a distance in the books. There's enough there to make some good action scenes and build on existing story lines. Maybe by the time I'm finished with Dance with Dragons I'll have a better idea of where this whole Bronn and Jamie go to Doren thing comes from, but I'll let that go for now.

Bronn with Jaime Lannister. That's very interesting. I'm very curious to see how this plays out.
