AGENT CARTER 'Looks Good' For A Second Season

AGENT CARTER 'Looks Good' For A Second Season

Despite being well-received by critics and audiences, Marvel's Agent Carter suffered from sub-par ratings, and as such, many have said that a 2nd season is unlikely. Now however, star Hayley Attwell has weighed in on the possibility of the show getting a season 2, and according to her, it's a distinct possibility! Click on the link to find out more.

Much fuss was made over the announcement of a second season for Marvel's recently released Daredevil Netflix series. Given the series' mass critical acclaim and wide viewership numbers, a second season was something of an inevitability. But the fate of Marvel's Agent Carter series is much less of a certain thing. In spite of its wide critical acclaim (it currently ranks at 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes), the show pulled in underwhelming ratings, with surprisingly few viewers turning out to watch as the series went on.

The low viewer numbers led many to think that a second season was unlikely. Recently however, many websites have stated that a 2nd season is seeming more likely. And now, star Hayley Atwell has added fuel to the fire! At the recent Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo, a hand-written 'frequently-asked questions' note was pinned to her autograph stand. It read 'We will know in 3 weeks if 'Agent Carter' is renewed for another season. But it looks good given the fan response.'

@OmarvIs- I think there's a ton of things they could do with a second season. Off the top of my head:
-Heinrich Zemo (introduced as a main villain and sets up Civil War)
-Baron Blood (main villain, introduces mystical/supernatural element, precursor to Dr Strange maybe?)
-Serpent Society? Doesn't seem like they're getting a look in in the movies so they could be used here
-Winter Soldier- see him kill Starks, set up HYDRA infiltration of SHIELD
-Could include other 40s heroes- Invaders, Union Jack, Spitfire etc.
Obviously they couldn't fit all of these things in a single 8-episode season, but you get my point.

I loved the first season. I'm Excited for a (potential) season 2. Also, just saying this here, autographs at cons are way to expensive. $60? Like, for writing on a paper? Regardless of your celebrity status, some of us want to have some money. Now, if a favorite celebrity of mine asked for 15-20$, I'd be cool. But $60 is to steep imo.

100% deserves it. It's probably an unfair comparison, but it was miles better than Agents of SHIELD's 1st season.

@Omarvls

The Starks didn't die until 1991 I believe. That about 45 years after Agent Carter. They would need an entirely different cast, and Peggy would be retired.

@blackandyellow

Not yet. ABC usually does the majority of their renewals in May. I would expect to hear about it later this week or Monday of next week before the finale airs.

Give us Heinrich Zemo! Would be perfect villain for season 2, would also tie in well with civil war. Explore the zemo's before heinrich as well.

Hopefully, this time, when the season ends they don't leave any loose ends. Close the season off in case it doesn't get a 3rd season.

And wth, she charges $60 for autographs? That's stupid.

The next season should be about the creation of SHIELD and Hydra 's inflitration.

That's great news! I was concerned Agent Carter wouldn't get a second season.

It's better than most shows on TV.
