Seems like we will have to wait even longer for Peggy Carter to return to the small screen. Thanks, Obama!

Bad news for all Marvel fans! President Obama has scheduled his State of the Union Address a little earlier than usual this year, on January 12. Traditionally, it has been placed in the last week of January. This has caused ABC to postpone the premiere of Agent Carter Season 2 by two weeks. Presumably to not interrupt the flow of episodes to early in its run. The two-hour season opener will now air on January 19.  Originally, the plan was for Agent Carter Season 2 to premiere on January 5.

Furthermore, it is now speculated that ABC will also have to push the second half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 to accommodate the postponing of Agent Carter. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  Is slated to return March 8 after its mid-season hiatus.

Marvel’s Agent Carter returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home – and perhaps even a new love – she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

Agent Carter returns January 19.
