It was officially announced during yesterday's San Diego Comic-Con panel that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would conclude after its seventh season, but we still have four episode of the current season to go, and you can get some idea of what to expect from them in this action-packed extended trailer.

The footage kicks off with May "executing" Sarge, but this just unleashes the full extent of his powers, and the team then realizes that they're going to have to forget about trying to bring Coulson back and put their enemy down for good before he helps bring about the end of the world.

However, the final shots do suggest that there might still be some of the former S.H.I.E.L.D Director left, as he seemingly recognizes Quake while prompting her to finish him off.

How do you guys think the season 6 finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to unfold? Drop us a comment down below, and be sure to tune in for a brand new episode tonight.

I see a scene ripped straight from Buffy Season 2 in there or it least paying homage to it. Looks awesome though, I must catch up.

Theory that I posted on the AoS Reddit: Deke's company will end the season as the new SHIELD Academy.

Whatever is going on with Sarge/Coulson, does it have anything to do with the deal Coulson made with the Ghost Rider? I feel like it does.

@tugboy - We never really found out what exactly was the basics of the deal between them just that his magical hellfire teared through the Inhuman-Kree cells in his body that brought him back to life.

I wonder how they will handle the possible revival of Coulson. Bringing back characters from the death while awesome could also undermine the growth the others went through in dealing with the grief or just lessen the consequence of loss.

But the theory that Sarge could come from the Fear Dimension and latched onto Coulson could be true.

Those scenes that take place in a temple must be from where Marcus Benson went to gather up information about Izel and the Shrikes, likely South America in Peru given they are borrowing from Incan mythology.

What I have seen of Season 6,I watch it on and off, nothing has jumped out at me in a way that makes me think this show is awesome.

Personality I think this show ending is long overdue.

Okay, so the Incan/Mayan temple where Izel is...doesn't that look an awful lot like where they went in the second episode of the series? Wouldn't that be a fun kind of full circle! Now I need to watch that episode again to see if I can find more similarities!

@Arlothia - I thought so too, if so then it is Incan and it is Peru because that is where they went in the 2nd episode all the way back then.

Anyone else notice they say "season finale" in the trailer, instead of "series finale"?
