Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuted after the massive success of
The Avengers and while it took some time to find its feet, it quickly became essential viewing for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As time has gone by, the series has become more standalone in nature, but with a dedicated fanbase, it's managed to avoid the axe for much longer than expected.
Well, all good things must come to an end, and it's now been revealed that
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will conclude after its seventh season airs next summer.
ABC already announced that the seventh batch of episodes would be shorter that previous seasons and that led to speculation that it would be its last. The good thing about this news, of course, is that the people working on the show can now ensure that we get a satisfying ending (unlike the Marvel TV shows on Netflix which were cancelled with no warning).
The news comes just hours before the show's Comic-Con panel in San Diego.
How do you guys feel about the end of
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Sound off in the usual place.
