No matter how you felt about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there's no denying that the show introduced a lot of great characters. Chloe Bennet's Quake was among them, and while her journey from Skye to Dasiy Johnson was more than a little convoluted, she's one Agent fans would love to see show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As of right now, it's still unclear how Marvel Studios plans to treat the Marvel Television characters and TV shows they've inherited after that division was brought under their "Marvel Studios Television" banner.
We've seen Daredevil and The Kingpin return with the same actors, but there's been no indication that Marvel Studios will keep their respective histories intact. It's hard to imagine Kevin Feige being beholden to creative decisions he didn't make, and we need look no further than the rebooted Darkhold in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for proof.
Now, though, we may have some clarification. Reliable insider KC Walsh recently responded to a Tweet from one of social media's many self-proclaimed scoopers reading, "Feige and [company] are treating Agents of S.HI.E.L.D. as another universe. Daisy in 616 will have a new origin...However, aspects of her [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.] story will be incorporated as a nod to all of the diehard fans. The creative team behind [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.] gave their blessing."
To that, Walsh said, "For the people who need to hear it, this is essentially how they explain the inclusion of the Netflix characters as well."
This was to be expected, and seems like a smart approach moving forward. A mixture of new and returning actors for these Marvel Television characters feels like the best possible way to handle them; as for Bennet, she's heavily rumoured to be making her MCU debut imminently and potentially in Secret Invasion.
For what it's worth, the actor has strongly denied having any involvement in that project. We're hoping to see her again sooner rather than later, though, as there's a lot Quake could bring to the table in the MCU...and yes, we wouldn't be remotely surprised if this version's origin story will make her a mutant rather than an Inhuman.
Are you hoping to see Daisy Johnson in the MCU?
