Marvel's long-running Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is returning after a very long hiatus, with Season 6 premiering on May 10, shortly after the release of Avengers: Endgame.

This season will take place one year after the finale of Season 5 and is set in a post-Phil Coulson world. Half of the team will be under the supervision of Director Mack on Earth dealing with anomalies, while the other half will be in deep space searching for cryo Fitz, who was last seen chilling on Enoch's Chronicon spaceship.

However, the Agents will be caught off guard with the arrival of a new character portrayed by Clark Gregg, someone who will be a ruthless, stone-cold antagonist. Now, thanks to some new Season 6 character posters released today by Marvel and ABC, we now know the name of Gregg's new character: "Sarge."

Gregg recently told TV Line that fans "might be a little disturbed" with his Sarge, and Chloe Bennet added that fans "won't realize how much of Phil is really Clark, and how much of a departure this new character is. To see Clark do something very, very different, I think, will actually be a fun treat for fans to see.
