RATINGS: Another Dip For AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.; No Movement On THE FLASH

Both TV shows returned last night after a week's hiatus, and despite a brief spike in ratings thanks to that Avengers: AOU sneak peek with the last ep, Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. show finds itself hitting another series low. The CW's The Flash stays the same.

The Flash

In terms of overall quality, Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has never been better, but it's still struggling to get those all-important eyeballs on TV sets every week. Its most recent episode benefited from the promise of some new footage from Avengers: Age Of Ultron and it reached 4.5 million total viewers with a 1.7 demo rating a couple of weeks ago -- but last night saw it drop 12% for a new series low. Likewise, though fans can't get enough of the CW's take on DC's Scarlet Speedster, The Flash brought in roughly the same numbers as its last ep (3.4 million viewers, 1.3 demo rating). These numbers aren't bad exactly, but both Marvel and WBTV will likely be looking at ways to get some more mainstream attention to boost the rating significantly over the next while.
