AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 Character Breakdowns Reveal The Arrival Of Mercenaries & A New Agent

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't set to return until the summer of 2019, but with the show expected to begin filming soon, we now have details on five new characters that will be joining the series.

The Season 5 finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may have said farewell to Clark Gregg’s Phil Coulson, but as new character breakdowns reveal, the Marvel series will be bringing in a number of new faces.

Thanks to a report from That Hashtag Show, we have word on five new additions that will either aid our favorite agents or cause them a whole lot of trouble.

The first is a male character in his 30s referred to as Jaco, who is described “as a silent mercenary,” intelligent and physically strong. His intelligence is said to be apparent when he speaks. Jaco will be joined by another mercenary called Pax. Aside from being the youngest of the two, Pax will have “a humorous streak” similar to Lance Hunter.

Mercenaries won’t be the only danger the S.H.I.E.L.D. team will be facing, for a new female character named Butterfly will be as lethal as she is unpredictable and aloof. Along with this 20-something year old character, the show will also be adding an older genius and teacher currently called Professor L. Despite having a positive view of humanity, the Professor “is disgruntled, bitter, and a mess of a person.”

As expected, the team will also gain some new allies. One new friend to our heroes is Agent Damon, a “handsome, likable, cool, and funny” member of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Though these are just character breakdowns, there's a good chance we'll hear some casting announcements soon, as the 13-episode Season 6 is expected to begin production next week.

Mercenaries? Then now might be the right time to re-introduce the concept of their failed attempt at "Most Wanted" and bring back Lance Hunter and Bobbi "Mockingbird" Morse.

If it is so, it'd be bad to miss this, probably, one last chance to do so.

@NinnesMBC - can't happen unfortunately, because for whatever reason I cannot explain to you, people like The Orville, therefore we can't get Bobbi back. They took a huge risk removing them from AOS for that spinoff and it backfired pretty badly, since we lost the spinoff and the characters.

@ftf530 - Yeah it did backfire. But if we can't use Bobbi then Hunter is still available and so the other actors they hired like Delroy Lindo for a character called Dominic Something.

It's worth a shot.

@NinnesMBC - I wonder how a show like that could work without the lance / bobbie dynamic. Their dynamic was the selling point of the concept for me.

@NinnesMBC - I do agree, if mercenaries are playing a role, bring back Hunter and Bobbie for a more permanent role again.

@ftf530 - I think it could've wored like how Marvel always showed anything could when they put their minds to it. But maybe back then they chewed too much with ABC (Agent Carter was also still on air) and they probably rushed it and ABC said no. Something in their test footage pilot might have not worked. It really could've worked with the actors.

And thanks!

@NinnesMBC - I would love to see Bobbi and Lance back, as well. I've missed their presence on the show.

@ftf530 - @NinnesMBC Originally Bobbi & Lance were only supposed to there for Season Two. But they were popular enough that they started thinking spin-off and kept them around for another half season. But they were gone no matter what after that to make room for new actors in S4. No backfire.

@HeavyMetal4Life - He's a terminator now so I doubt it. Of course, Marvel is currently doing nothing with Johnny Blaze so...
