Marvel Studios first announced plans for an Armor Wars TV series way back in 2020, but the project has since evolved into a movie. According to The Cosmic Circus, the current plan is for it to follow Fantastic Four, meaning we can expect this War Machine-led adventure to arrive in theaters on July 25, 2025.

In regards to the story, the Department of Damage Control will indeed be front and centre. After taking possession of the late Tony Stark's tech in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's said the government agency will create an "Iron Army" to better protect the world after Secret Invasion

We've already seen the lengths the D.O.D.C. will go to in order to deal with rogue metahumans, but this army of rogue Iron Men will ultimately fall under the control of Armor Wars' true villains.

The site explains that War Machine will find himself attempting to fend off Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and Iron Man 2 baddie Justin Hammer. Tony joked it would take the latter 20 years to replicate his Iron Man technology and, well, here we are!

It sounds like at least some of these Iron Men will be classic villains from the Iron Man comic books, though it's currently unclear whether reports about Ultron returning are correct. However, Rhodey will have some backup in the form of Riri Williams, a.k.a. Ironheart.

While this project didn't generate a huge amount of excitement when it was first announced, it's now shaping up to be very exciting. Essentially Iron Man 4, it won't feature Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark but sounds like the next best thing.

A lot of dangling plot threads will likely be addressed in the movie, anyway, and this report strongly hints that other supporting characters from Iron Man's corner of the MCU will return.

Are you excited about seeing Armor Wars finally become a reality?

I’m low key excited for this one
McMurdo - 7/6/2023, 10:05 AM
@DesiSpiderman - you shouldn't be
Taonrey - 7/6/2023, 3:24 AM
I just can't get into Valentina and it's annoying that she's going to be in everything
bobevanz - 7/6/2023, 5:53 AM
@Taonrey - my thoughts exactly, they haven't given her enough screentime and she hasn't done anything really menacing or villain worthy imo, like a lame ass evil Fury lol
DetectiveCinema - 7/6/2023, 3:29 AM
Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer returning skyrockets my interest in this, and I think paired with JL-D could be something quite great!
Slotherin - 7/6/2023, 4:32 AM
@DetectiveCinema - mmm, that is good ingredients
ObserverIO - 7/6/2023, 4:27 AM

This sounds dope af.

Bout time War Machine gets his spotlight.
TheManWithoutFear - 7/6/2023, 4:57 AM
Justin Hammer could be in the villain in anything and it automatically becomes a must-watch.
philinterrupted - 7/6/2023, 5:15 AM
I just hope they find a better name for it.
JamesGyoke - 7/6/2023, 6:16 AM
@philinterrupted - i was thinking that, too.
TempleRod - 7/6/2023, 6:03 AM
LOL. This sounds like shit.
More Marvel 'guy in robot suit' shit. Plus now "Oh Guess what, the enemy is the government!!"

LOL. Like Third Grade level writing.
Shampoo Heads will eat it up, though.
Batmangina - 7/6/2023, 6:10 AM
The question is - will Disney have any money left to lose by the time this turd is floated out?
TempleRod - 7/6/2023, 6:12 AM
@Batmangina - Not if Kathleen Kennedy has anything to say about it.
TempleRod - 7/6/2023, 6:28 AM
Marvel is losing traction. Who is going to care about a bunch of robot Men and Women, LED BY Rhodey.
OF all people?

So a whole of movie of Robot People clashing. My robot suit is BETTER THAN YOURS. And then shooting laser beams at each for the third act.
This is really what Marvel has come down to. Pitch after pitch of just vapid shit that no one ever needs to see.
No story. No stakes.
Because with Rhodey, we already know there's not going to be any heart to the movie. Cheadle is a good actor, but he doesn't have any leading man charisma.
Not by a mile.

So it's going to be 'all about supporting cast'. AS USUAL with these mid-Marvel movies. And it's just going to jump around from set piece to set piece meanwhile introducing characters that we are somehow supposed to love later down the line.

Instead of a movie about it's actual main character. Which I can't remember the last time Marvel has done. Maybe Shang Chi. And that still managed to suck.
TempleRod - 7/6/2023, 6:33 AM
The Falcon Movie has exactly the same problem.
No one gives a [frick] about Sam Falcon. I bet they even limit Bucky's screentime because they are scared of him stealing the show.
Got to coddle and protect their little fake Falcon Guy, and surround him with a bunch of lame supporting characters that won't show up again for about 6 or 7 years.
And when they do, who's going to care?
Brave New World is going to flop. No one wants a Falcon movie.
Vigor - 7/6/2023, 6:43 AM
This movie is to the Iron man series,
What Brave new world is to the captain america series

Also I wonder if Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is the benefactor
MrDandy - 7/6/2023, 6:49 AM
Excited for this one War Machine deserves his time in the spotlight and Justin Hammer was the best thing about Iron Man 2
Fogs - 7/6/2023, 7:01 AM
@MrDandy - Yeah, same here.

Writing will make it or break it. Cause it has potential.
DiegoMD - 7/6/2023, 7:03 AM
I really don't care for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine
TheWalkingCuban - 7/6/2023, 8:10 AM
@DiegoMD - a little on Black Panther two, but that’s it
IronMan616 - 7/6/2023, 7:34 AM
Some f-ing bullshit the name Armor Wars is being used on a War Machine movie and classic Iron Man villains will be used in the movie instead of them having appeared first for Iron Man.

I hope this is another Marvel/Disney failure.
CorndogBurglar - 7/6/2023, 7:39 AM
@IronMan616 - Iron Man 3 should have been Armor Wars. Iron Man 2 was already setting the stage perfectly for that. But then they decided to do fake Mandarin instead...
Repian - 7/6/2023, 7:41 AM
@CorndogBurglar - I want Xu Xialing and the ten rings to appear on the Show. Justin Hammer can relate to conflicting organizations and nations. So we could see Xu Xialing similar to Sasha Hammer and a Crimson Dynamo accurate.

dragon316 - 7/6/2023, 7:48 AM
Plot villian want rule / take control stark armor ideas heros vs villian hero’s win plot always same comic books and movies never changes always same with different characters stop over complicating things with plot and story answer will always be in front of you obvious answer
cubichy - 7/6/2023, 7:50 AM
No one has actually said it, but I will. There is only 1 Ironman and his name is Tony stark, not warmachine or anyone else. You cannot have Armour wars without Ironman, cannot happen. This is dogshit and will tank. Bring Tony stark back, he always comes back in the comics. Tony goes rogue, that's the story. I have zero interest and will skip, mcu has gone to shit.
smgmayhem - 7/6/2023, 8:35 AM
@cubichy - No
CorndogBurglar - 7/6/2023, 9:06 AM
@cubichy - Even if Tony did come back, he shouldn't go Rogue. It should be like the comics and his Stark Tech armor leaks out into the wrong hands. Which is basically what this doing, just minus Iron Man. Which I agree, does suck. Iron Man 3 should have been Armor Wars. Iron Man 2 set it up brilliantly.
