One of those examples being the Spider-Man companion video game to the 2002 movie. The game that started as a small project, then an open world, then finally a linear story game, was set to be released in 2003, but do to disagreements between Sony and Marvel on how the game should have been, among other problems, the game was no more. In a video made by the DidYouKnowGaming? channel, they explain the mechanics incorporated, such as the "shadow world" which would let you "see?" through Daredevil's perspective, the use of his billy club as grappling hook that would get him around from place to place, and the game would also feature cameos from the Punisher and Black Widow.
