It seems that the best video games are the ones we will never get to play, and that is the case with this cancelled Daredevil video game. It was being developed by 5,000 ft Inc. (a now non existent company) in a time when Marvel was licensing its product, and saw at its early stage, a rise in comic book characters in movies and video games. One of those examples being the Spider-Man companion video game to the 2002 movie. The game that started as a small project, then an open world, then finally a linear story game, was set to be released in 2003, but do to disagreements between Sony and Marvel on how the game should have been, among other problems, the game was no more. In a video made by the DidYouKnowGaming? channel, they explain the mechanics incorporated, such as the "shadow world" which would let you "see?" through Daredevil's perspective, the use of his billy club as grappling hook that would get him around from place to place, and the game would also feature cameos from the Punisher and Black Widow. After learning everything about the cancelled Daredevil game, would you have bought? Do you think it should be reignited? Sound off below.

Charlie Cox has a really goofy face for a mask. Think it's the nose.

This site has needed a mobile version for far too long. I only access it on mobile and I love the way this one works.

That said, I would love a Daredevil game! They had some great ideas about how to go about it too. The plot sounded great and it even included Echo! Maybe someday there will be a proper Daredevil game...

Don't you dare put the word "Cancelled" anywhere near a picture of Charlie Cox's Daredevil. You nearly gave me a heart attack.

Sounded a lot like Batman Arkham City way before Batman Arkham City was released. Wish it would have been able to get finished it sounded interesting.

If Spider-Man on PS4 ends up being as good as it looks like it will be, then I'd definitely love it if Marvel could develop a gritty open-world Daredevil video game. Having said that, there would probably be lots of similarities to the Arkham games (e.g. Daredevil's senses being like Detective Mode) so hopefully they'd be able to make it unique in other ways.

Some of the ideas from this cancelled version would be great to incorporate, such as a gang war in Hell's Kitchen erupting due to a power vacuum following the assassination of a prominent criminal figure. It would be a great way of having random crimes occur, and could even explain a way of limiting the map to just Hell's Kitchen by having it cordoned off by the NYPD or something, making the rest of the city inaccessible.

It looks great and could have been an amazing game

what a shame, it had so much potential. even the shadow world would have predated detective mode.
