DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Rumor Reveals Whether Any Of THE DEFENDERS Will Appear In The MCU Series

Shortly before Echo premiered on Disney+ yesterday evening, Marvel Television's Netflix TV shows were added to the MCU timeline on the streamer and officially made "canon."

For many fans, this is cause for celebration; others, meanwhile, are a little more sceptical and believe this was a calculated move on Marvel Studios' part to win over fans who have grown frustrated with the Multiverse Saga and its recent offerings.

Either way, with Avengers: Secret Wars expected to reboot the MCU, Kevin Feige and company probably aren't feeling the pressure to bring back any actors or characters they'd rather overhaul down the line (which is likely bad news for Finn Jones' Iron Fist).

There's been a great deal of speculation online about whether Daredevil: Born Again will feature any of The Defenders. However, according to a rumour shared by scooper Daniel Richtman, there are no plans for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, or Jessica Jones to appear in the Disney+ series.

This is a surprise as we'd previously heard Jessica will be part of the story and it's no secret Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as The Punisher. With that in mind, it's best to take these claims with a pinch of salt for now.

Richtman also claimed Wilson Fisk will be New York City's Mayor when Daredevil: Born Again begins, meaning we'll miss out on his quest to run for office.

The show is in the midst of major changes and, while Richtman does have some solid sources, we find it hard to believe he's privy to everything that's happening. After all, Marvel Studios is going back to the drawing board as it looks to overhaul the show because the previous version wasn't working.

"We're having a really good time right now," Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio recently said of working on Daredevil: Born Again"We're getting back up. We're gonna start soon, hopefully sooner than later, and Charlie [Cox] and I feel like the right vibe is there."

"I think all the powers out there that control this whole creative world of the MCU, also believe that we’re in the right place right now. I have to say, it's luck, really. I mean, my favorite series so far have been Moon Knight and Loki, and we've got those guys as directors, and so that's pretty lucky. And we've got Dario [Scardapane], who's an incredible writer who wrote The Punisher. We're in a very happy place right now."

Daredevil: Born Again is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2025.

How the f@ck can a rumor reveal something. It's just a rumor. The truth reveals.

@LSHF - Esp whilst the show is supposed to be having rewrites but serious reliaility questions when stated Fisk will already e Mayor when I was sure there has been BTS images of folk waving campaign banners for the election to that office. I guess those could have been scrapped or flashback scenes but again, the series is having a big overhaul thus anything that may once have been accurate may well now be in flux esp if the decision to make the Netflix shows as closer to or actual canon (rather than just informing towards how to write/portray characters) is relatively recent may opt for at least cameos added now.

@Apophis71 - Excellent points. I didn't consider the possibility of rewrites being, in part, so the Netflix shows characters can make the MCU transition smoother.

Oh, boy. People guess an obvious thing and still there are morons who not only pay for "exclusive" made up lies but also make articles about it.

Daniel is like "I'll just say something very obvious and in case that doesn't turn out to be true, I'll just say plans changed". And Josh and his alias/wannabes are going to make an article about that too.

I wouldn't ever diss Marvel like some of you do on one company or the other. So, I wanted to preface my following next comment and assure I am not ripping on Marvel.

Just curious, is anyone else just not that excited about these television/streaming shows? Seems like most of their shows have not been well received and I simply don't want to waste my time watching if I could watch something more interesting.

@lazlodaytona - I honestly wouldn't be surprised if daredevil is their last attempt to get audiences interested in a show.

@lazlodaytona - Of the D+ shows I completed, which was all of them through Moon Knight, they were all ok at best besides Loki S1. I’ve already more or less bowed out of this.

Made 2 episodes into She Hulk and determined that show was obviously not for me.

Made 2 episodes into Ms Marvel and determined it was not for me.

Skipped Secret Invasion.

Got 1 episode into Loki S2 and just haven’t been interested enough to go back to it.

Watched What If S2 and was really underwhelmed.

Very likely going to just skip Echo.

I just don’t care any more. And based on Disney metrics, a lot of other people don’t either.

@mountainman - Right there with you, sir. This DEI ESG abortion that DisMarv has become is 100% Girl Brand now and IDGAF.

I cancelled D+ two years ago. Not one [frick]ing second of their content has made me anything but glad I did.

@mountainman - It's like you are telling my story. Right there with ya.

One anomaly for me though is I actually was liking She-Hulk (didn't love it) until the last episode. What a dumbass way to end that series and I will not watch if they make a season 2.

@mountainman - I agree except for Loki S2. It's good sci-fi.

@Fogs - I hear it gets better later in the season. I just need to get back at it. The first episode had too much timey wimey nonsense for my taste. I’ll finish it up sometime soon.

@lazlodaytona - I'm someone that loves me some MCU content. I've watched everything they put out on the big screen and D+.

But I'll admit that even though I tune in to watch everything with excitement. I've walked away from almost all the D+ content with a meh kind of attitude. I haven't hated anything they've made, but outside of Loki and Werewolf by Night, I can't say I've loved any of it either.

I can't see the D+ content lasting if they keep this up. Which would be a bummer of course, but it is what it is.
lazlodaytona
lazlodaytona - 1/11/2024, 11:35 AM
@RedFury - The only shows I liked and actually finished were Loki and Wandavision (which I absolutely loved). I sure hope you get to see more improvement in the D+ realm. A dedicated fan like you deserves it.

They will be the most wanted. Mayor Fisk's crusade against the street heroes of New York will put the Defenders and Spider-Man in the spotlight as public enemies. Civil War at street level.

Can anyone who's watched Echo confirm if these 'MCU cameos' the director spoke about a week ago actually happen? Or was it all hype bullshit? (Aside from Fisk, DD, and Clint obvs)
RedFury
RedFury - 1/11/2024, 10:44 AM
@CLTMAN29 - I finished it yesterday and I honestly can't recall any cameos outside of the assumed ones.

RUMORS ARE NOT NEWS. STOP IT!

This site is turning into nothing more than a gossip site now and it sucks compared to how it used to be.

Maybe add a "Gossip Section" to the website cause it's kinda obnoxious these articles are popping up at the main timeline and litter the entire page. Or at least rephrase them into "Fan Speculation Discussions" which could be fun for the community to talk about.

@WarMonkey - ever since the pandemic it’s been ok to post just any rumor/fan theory/spoiler as fact by “sources” until proven wrong. Used to be reporting of actual announcements from studios and actors. Now it’s all about posting as much content as possible doesn’t matter if it’s real or fake, just matters if it gets clicks.
Maybe one day we can all boycott the bullshet. But it’s hard when a lot of people just don’t really care, they don’t even read the articles they just comment. Kinda like I do. Wilding articles are not for reading, they’re for flame wars.

Apophis71 - 1/11/2024, 8:31 PM
@FireandBlood - To confirm, the site has always posted about rumors, however never anywhere near as many as it does now and tended not to be rando's on twitter and Reddit unless backed up a lot. Now we may as well just be on twitter how fast they make it here even if contradictory to something the same or other scoopers and the frequently reported list said only days earlier.

Gotten to the point now there are so many rumor articles put up that actual official news, interviews etc slide off the front page so fast most probably never see most of them.

Just because those shows are deemed canon doesn't mean they aren't variants from another multiverse.
ptick
ptick - 1/11/2024, 11:39 AM
@TheFinestSmack - in theory, but if that's the case, then the Tobey and Garfield Spiderman movies that are on D+ should be added to the timeline order as they are already clearly multiverse canon. Might as well include the X-men movies and Deadpool 1 and 2 as well given that Deadpool 3 is intended as the third film in a trilogy and that series connects back to all the FoxVerse films. (The Xavier MOM cameo and The Marvels post-credit wouldn't count - at least not yet - as there's no guarantee those are from the Fox-verse.)

How exactly does a rumor “confirm” something? By that measure I heard a rumor that seems to confirm I’m dating Margot Robbie.

Rumors, rumors, rumors. Blah.

Ritter Jessica Jones would be great in DD/Spidey 4, MCU moving forward.

Colter Luke Cage would be good with good writing & direction.
