DAREDEVIL: Elden Henson Says The Avengers Gave The Mob Their "Foothold In Hell's Kitchen"
In a recent press junket Daredevil's Elden Henson reveals that the Battle of New York in Marvel's The Avengers has helped the mob gain a foothold in Hell's Kitchen. Hit the jump to see what else Henson and Deborah Ann Woll had to say.
Yesterday the cast of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevils series spoke to a number of reporters at a press junket. During the discussion the actor Elden Henson, who plays Foggy Nelson, revealed how the Battle of New York in Marvel's The Avengers led to a rise in the mob's influence. "New York's been torn apart by the aliens and everyone's trying to deal with it. That's how the mob got their foothold in Hell's Kitchen: from the Avengers' fight." Henson told the reporters. "The Avengers don't realize all this crime has trickled down because of their actions. I think that's so interesting -- how now that New York's been torn apart, what's going to happen with the criminal element. They're not dealing with that."
Henson's co-star Deborah Ann Woll then chimed in saying, "There's a rationalization for why we need people to deal with the stuff on the streets and we need people to deal with the gods and aliens, they're all linked but in the same way, Thor can't bother himself with a gangster and Daredevil can't take on an alien."
They don't say whether we'll see all of this explained on-screen is unknown, but Marvel hasn't shied away from having their films influence their shows yet. For instance, the events in the Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier have both had an impact on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
