DAREDEVIL Filming Details Reveal New Information On The Suit, Ninjas, Fight Scenes And More

It sounds like Daredevil might just end up wearing that black costume from Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.'s Man Without Fear for the majority of the first season of his Netflix series based on new filming details. According to DNAinfo, popular dive bar Turkey's Nest Tavern was recently transformed into "Josie's Hell's Kitchen" and is a location from the comic books where ol' Hornhead visits when trying to get information out of the criminal underworld. Fight scenes have also been shot, with one featuring "Daredevil in black uniformed costume beats up guys to get information" and another with him in the same outfit beating up a "Junkie drug abuser". Filming notices also reveal that a scene where a biker pushes Daredevil into eight motorcycles was shot. Specific locations for each of these can be found by clicking the link below. On October 25th, filming took place in a warehouse with the hero battling "a ninja with a kyoketsu-shoge knife on a chain."

The headline is misleading. I was hoping for a description of his real suit!

A knife on a chain?
Where did I see something like that recently?

But just because he films 2 fight scenes with the black costume doesn't mean it will be the majority of the show. It could be the first 5 episodes and that would be less than half of the season.

But I like the costume so I really don't care

I mean, I'm not a huge fan of him having it for most of the season, but as long as the show is well written, it could be great! Since it is 13 hours and not 2 and a half, it could spend a lot of time and energy really building the character and really give us an immersive world. One thing that is weird in origin CBM's is it really glosses over it all, and being able to really go over everything in deep detail would be quite beneficial. Again, I wish I could see it earlier, but we could always have a second season in 2016!

There will be a lot of development, so I'm assuming he hasn't taken on the name of Daredevil or maybe he has, but doesnt have a costume yet. In his defense, he is blind. :)

Well they don't film episodes in chronological order so we'll see.

I love that he's going to have the "work in progress" suit for most of the season. I'd laugh at the notion that a vigilante's first concern is getting a professionally tailored, fully colored suit. We're lucky we're seeing more than one version to begin with.

So excited for this show. The scope and scale they're creating really intrigues me. I've always been a huge Datedevil fan! One of my fave heroes. Sounds like it's gonna be great. Especially, if they're following the frank miller run

I'm fine so long as he ends up with the red devil suit.

This seems like an origin tale so I'm good with it.

@Sipprelle exactly! It doesn't make sense to have a blind guy prioritize a flashy costume. I am sure by the end of 13 episodes we will have the costume but they'll hold off til the last few episodes.

Keeping him in the black prototype suit is a bad move. But since it's a Marvel Studios production, it'll be hailed as a genius choice regardless. I'm honestly a little bummed we aren't getting the Yellow and Red suit instead of this black ninja-batman-iron fist thing. The Yellow and Red suit, while campy looking, would have been an awesome nod to the classic comics.

Meh. Whatever. As long as it's written well, I'll watch.

@Bekss Ninja Assassin. Sounds like this is going to have fights scenes of high caliber because choreography for that blade chain thing is usually intense as hell.

This sounds amazing. I am beyond excited for this show to start and if the characters are done justice I could really give two shits about the costume choice. And that's coming from a massive DD fan. Honestly, I could see them revealing his signature costume at the end and actually seeing it in action when the Defenders is released.
