DAREDEVIL Star Charlie Cox Is Anxious To Team Up With Spider-Man But Knows Nothing About THE DEFENDERS

Daredevil star Charlie Cox reiterates his hopes to have the Man Without Fear cross paths with Tom Holland's Spider-Man and makes it clear he's heard nothing about plans for The Defenders season two...

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is all about crossovers but it appears as if the chances of any characters from the small screen hitting the big one are somewhere between slim and none. Don't tell Charlie Cox that, though, because he's still hoping that Daredevil will get the chance to cross paths with Tom Holland's Spider-Man, something we know would actually be extremely hard to make a reality.

"I have to be really careful here," Cox explained during a recent panel appearance at the Las Vegas Comic-Con. "I mean, I’m sure I can say this. And I’ll just preface it by saying that I can’t see how this would happen. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. But I have no information to suggest that this would ever happen. But it’d be really cool to see…I’d love to do something with Spider-Man."

That would be incredible to see but unless Kevin Feige decides the Man Without Fear is worthy of being lifted from Netflix and put on the big screen, it isn't going to be happening. Something else that seemingly isn't on the cards is The Defenders as Cox is the latest cast member to cast doubt on it.

"I have no idea about Defenders," he confirmed. "I know that I had a great time doing the first season and I love those guys and I love the work that we did and I love all of their shows."

"I hate to kind of shut down so many of these, I'm really asked to not speculate on this stuff, so I really have no idea if they're thinking about it. Honestly, I don't. When it comes to information about the show and characters and future seasons and, the question that everyone loves to ask, is am I ever gonna be in one of the movies...in general, most of the time, I know nothing, and very wisely, they tell me nothing. Even if I do, it's kind of difficult, because just to even speculate about it in a public forum, then it becomes something that people talks about, and, very quickly, that becomes the word of god."

What do you hope the future holds in store for Cox's version of Daredevil? Are you disappointed that his future seems unclear beyond a third season which will pit him against Wilson Fisk and Bullseye? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on these remarks in the comments section down below.

Spider-Man and Daredevil is a classic

I think that it could be very cool some TV series with 2 or 4 chapters, 40 minutes running time episodes. (Like MARVEL TEAM-UP or Limited series)

And Kingpin/D´Onofrio as the supervillain

Iron Fist, Power Man, Punisher and Jessica Jones could be in

Defenders was sort of underwhelming, but I definitely enjoyed it. Especially Jessica Jones interacting with Matt and Danny. I wouldn't mind it getting a second season, but it seems unlikely.

I would love for Cox's Daredevil to cross paths with Spidey. They've done a pretty good job with the character.

@RageDriver2401 - Why does a second season of the Defenders seem unlikely? It seems like an obvious happening to me.

@GratefulBat - it was super expensive and had very low viewer turnout. I think they failed to properly target each of the four pretty distinct market segments prior, thinking that people would know - but the GA really didn't turn up.

It also puts a huge strain / slow down on the the seasons of all the other shows.

I also think that it means we probably aren't getting any more netflix shows that aren't already running (due to the disney deal I think that's why we haven't had another show added since punisher, which came out not long before the deal broke to the public last year, since they had been in a pattern of announcing another show at the end of the last one prior).

@ftf530 - Ahh the Disney streaming service, that is an answer I had forgot about. But otherwise I would expect it to be on. NEtflix has money like a motherf###.

@GratefulBat - assuming disney merges hulu (which they now have controlling stake in) with their new service, I can't imagine them not:

1. Pouring some netflix level money into new content.

2. Stopping any non-disney marvel television productions.

It bums me out a little, because if there's one marvel netflix show I'd love to see that we probably won't get now / wouldn't get from another service is Moon Knight. Only character left for the Netflix budget level / style that I'm really hoping to see.

But I would really take a bet that the reason we've stopped hearing as much about new Marvel shows / whats in development is because of the streaming service.

Charlie Cox with Tom Holland or Chris Evans gives me chills.

I would [fricking] love to see Spidey and Daredevil team up. It would be great to see both of them team up against Kingpin, especially as he is both a spiderman and daredevil villain!

I know Feige was keeping an eye on Marvel Netflix back when DD S1 first dropped, I remember a few interviews where he was asked about it. I hope he realises the absolute catch and potential he could have with adding Cox to his roster, or at the very least appreciates how great [Cox] has been as much as his A-List cast on the big screen.

DD is awesome ...what a team-up that would be with Spidey. I'd say Tom Holland would be down with it too.

Heck, just a mention of any of the Defenders in a Spider-Man movie would be good...
