DAREDEVIL Star Vincent D'Onofrio Comments On Possibly Taking On SPIDER-MAN As 'The Kingpin'

With Spider-Man set to become a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with next year's Captain America: Civil War, the chances of seeing the wall-crawler meeting up with the Man Without Fear have significantly increased. Here, Daredevil's Kingpin talks about possibly kicking Spidey's butt...

Spider-Man and Daredevil have quite a history, as do the wall-crawler and The Kingpin. Wilson Fisk actually made his debut in Amazing Spider-Man #50, meaning that he's more than likely always been one of those characters both the right holders to Spider-Man and Daredevil (similar to Quicksilver appearing in both X-Men: Days of Future Past and Avengers: Age of Ultron) can use at the same time. However, now that they're all part of the same Marvel Cinematic Universe, the chances of The Kingpin showing up in 2017's Spider-Man reboot have significantly increased.

Talking to IGN, Vincent D'Onofrio confirmed that he has "no idea" whether there are any plans for such a crossover, but did add: "That would be super-cool, yeah. To be able to kick Spider-Man’s butt would be awesome. But we just don’t know about those things. Those are all the Marvel secrets that they never tell us until they need us, so… Yeah, I would do it. I would do it in second."

This is my DREAM Spider-Man movie. It's always made sense to me for Kingpin to be one of Spidey's first villains, much like how Batman's first villains were the Gotham crime families. Spider-Man's first villain should also be that, with the more superpowered freaks coming in the aftermath.

Plus, it gives an excuse for Spider-Man and Daredevil to team-up.

They wouldn't reuse the same villain again. Wait... Magneto was the villain in three xmen movies. Never mind.

Have Kingpin be the main villain and give him some goons like Ox, Montana, and Fancy Dan. You can setup some gang war scenario between him and Hammerhead. Then for the sake of having some kind of colorful villain character you can bring in Kraven as a kind of assassin to kill Spider-Man (being hired by either Kingpin or Hammerhead). It sounds like a lot but it's completely doable.

Seriously though, Daredevil has to make an appearance in a movie. Marvel, you can't claim to have a shared universe if you don't do things with it!

I recently bought the Spiderman epic collection (if you haven't heard of the marvel epic collections look them up on amazon because they are awesome. The one I got had the first 13 issues I think which features the origins of those characters.
