Earlier this month, we learned that all of the Marvel Television shows on Netflix would be leaving the global streaming giant at the end of February. Fans of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders were understandably concerned with what the future might hold in store for these series, especially as they don't necessarily fit into Disney+'s family-friendly image.
This is not a problem overseas, as Disney+ has a "Star" category in place of Hulu. Everything from The Walking Dead to Logan and Deadpool are available there, so the Man Without Fear and company should have no trouble fitting in...and they'll make their debut a little sooner than we expected.
A Canadian press release is doing the rounds on social media that confirms all the shows listed above will hit Disney+ on March 16. That means there's only going to be a two-week wait before fans can watch them again, but plans for the shows in the U.S. aren't quite so clear at this time. Short of Star being added to the service (which would likely drive up subscribers but could kill Hulu), we'd bet on them actually heading to Hulu either around March 16 or the same day.
We're hoping an official announcement is coming soon as fans are eager for clarification. The links these Marvel Television properties have to the MCU may be tenuous at best, but they're still important - more so than ever following the returns of Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio as Daredevil and The Kingpin, respectively.
Stay tuned for updates.
