Disney+ has made a couple of obvious edits to two scenes from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in order to town down the violence and make them less graphic.
The Direct has noticed that most of the blood was removed from a shot of Hydra scientist Wilfred Nagel's corpse, and his eyes are now closed. The second change also comes from a sequence in the third episode, when Bucky hurls a pipe through one of the Power Broker's mercs, pinning her to a container. Now, the pipe only glances off her chest.
Why the streamer is censoring its own show almost a year after it debuted is not clear, but it most likely has something to do with the recent hullaballoo surrounding the addition of the now defunct Marvel Netflix shows. Earlier this month, the Parents Television Council (PTC) kicked up a fuss about the TVMA-rated content being made available on Disney+, accusing the Mouse House of "destroying their brand."
Disney+ did implement stricter parental controls, but they've evidently decided to take more extreme steps. What this means for other Marvel shows containing more adult-oriented content remains to be seen, but it's worth pointing out that the latest MCU series, Moon Knight is relatively violent and doesn't shy away from a bit of bloodletting.
