THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER Showrunner Explains How The Show Deals With AVENGERS: ENDGAME Fallout

WandaVision addressed the fallout from the events of Avengers: Endgame, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman has now explained how this series is going to do the same...

Avengers: Endgame may have brought back the people who disappeared when Thanos wiped out half the universe in Avengers: Infinity War, but that five-year time-jump looks set to have major consequences for the MCU. The ramifications of the "Blip" are going to have an impact on everything that happens moving forward, including in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

During yesterday's global press conference for the upcoming Disney+ TV series ahead of its debut this Friday, showrunner and head writer Malcolm Spellman weighed in on how The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will address the fallout from Endgame

"I think what worked out really nicely was that where Endgame leaves off, dispatching Thanos has created a situation where the entire world is dealing with one single issue...which is very familiar to what's going on today," he explained. "Everything is born from that. The villains in this series are responding to that. In fact, every villain in this series would tell you that he or she is a hero."

"The heroes are responding to that in their personal lives, and that A-Story plot is all born from one single organic thing in this continuum from what happened after Endgame," Spellman continued. "That galvanizes and affects everyone on the planet at the same time and creates a nice cohesion and direct lineage to the MCU."

The consequences of Thanos' attack are clearly going to play into this show in a huge way, and this may go some way towards explaining why Zemo is again determined to take out the Avengers. Assuming he was around for those five years, perhaps the villain believes the world was better off without them? (that might explain the purple, Thanos-like mask in the context of the MCU).

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ this Friday, March 19th!

Between this, FFH and Wandavision (with DS2 on the way) we're going to get at least 4 distinctly distinctly different views of the post snap life. I know in summer 2019 some felt Far From Homes more comedic take seemed shallow as an Endgame follow up but setting aside timing, I think I'm pretty happy just getting what we've gotten and what we're set to get, because if this is a central focus of too many other projects I feel like I'm going to start getting Snap fatigue like we got 'Battle of NY' fatigue after Avengers

We're gonna see Steve's funeral, aren't we?

Another different POV of a post-Thanos world is welcoming. I think the fallout here is more consequential and comped than the Battle of NY as it’s a impacted the whole world in a myriad of ways.

The world will be far more skeptical of enhanced individuals, aliens and of course the small mutant community about to appear.

But a year ago folks were saying the events of endgame had no permanence. Guess they were wrong...again

I’d think it would be cool if this show addressed the fact that, whilst technically the ‘right’ thing to do, the people returning from the snap would cause more problems than when they all disappeared In the first place.
