It doesn't seem unfair to say that Marvel Studios somewhat dropped the ball on Sharon Carter after her appearances in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. While she had a small, but pivotal role to play in both of those movies, the character was forgotten about until The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and never really lived up to her comic book potential.
The future does now look a little brighter for Sharon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and during a recent interview, actress Emily VanCamp expressed a desire to don the hero's classic costume.
"That is a question for the powers that be. That I can’t tell you," she said with a laugh when asked if we'll ever get to see here wear that suit in the MCU. "I mean, she’s not in the white suit in Madripoor. So maybe down the line, I don’t know. For sure [I want to wear it]. I think people were hoping for [it]."
There's a lot of speculation online about Sharon's true motivations in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, with many convinced she's either the Power Broker or is, at least, working for him.
