Black Widow may have been Natasha Romanoff's chance to shine, but there's simply no getting around the fact Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova stole the show. A post-credits scene set the stage for the character to return in Hawkeye, and she made quite the impact during the show's fourth episode.
Targeting Clint Barton on a rooftop opposite Maya Lopez's apartment, a thrilling four-way battle ensued that saw Yelena get the best of her opponents (she is a Black Widow, after all).
Before being unmasked, Yelena was shown wearing a mask that paid homage to her comic book counterpart and Funko has today revealed two new Pops based on the character's likeness. Both are inspired by how Yelena first looked in Hawkeye and sadly not on either of the awesome costumes she was rocking while undercover in New York City confronting Kate Bishop and trailing Eleanor.
These Pops are very cool, though, and that masked "Chase" is likely to be highly sought after.
During a recent interview with BuzzFeed, directors Bert and Bertie actually talked about introducing Yelena on that rooftop. "Obviously, it was like, how long can we delay the reveal of Yelena?" Bert recalled. "That was very important to us. You know this is a Widow, but the big reveal that it's Yelena is so satisfying."
"We loved having such an amazing woman kick Jeremy's — I mean, Clint's — ass," she continued. "So that was really fun because they are each dangerous in their own way. Yelena and Maya match his ability, so it was fun to see that four way fight."
