HAWKEYE "Partners, Am I Right?" Stills Take Us Back To That Rooftop Battle And [SPOILER]'s Return

Disney+ has released a handful of new stills from last Wednesday's episode of Hawkeye, highlighting a number of key moments, including that epic rooftop battle with the return of a Black Widow character.

It's barely a spoiler at this stage to say that Florence Pugh made her Marvel Cinematic Universe return as Yelena Belova in the latest episode of Hawkeye, but after the actress had her Instagram account blocked for sharing some screenshots, it's probably better to be safe than sorry!

We're expecting to see much more of the Black Widow star over the final two episodes of the Disney+ series as she continues to take aim at Clint Barton. She's not the only big character expected to appear this Wednesday, though, as rumours continue to swirl about Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk (he's believed to be the "uncle" pinching young Maya Lopez's cheek in Hawkeye's third episode).

Now, Marvel Studios and Disney+ have dropped some new stills from the latest instalment of the show, highlighting the rooftop battle and Kate Bishop's confrontation with Echo in her apartment. There's a great shot of Pugh's Yelena both with and without that comic book accurate mask.

Hawkeye has been firing on all cylinders since launching last month, and in our review of the first two episodes, we said: "Marvel Studios is once again sleigh-in' it with Hawkeye, an unmissable Christmastime team-up bringing holiday cheer to the MCU with top tier storytelling delivered in the Mighty Marvel Manner and a bold, brilliant new hero in Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop."

Check out this final batch of stills from "Partners, Am I Right?" below:

@JoshWilding - Josh my guy, you're doing a great job as usual. Just wanted to ask one thing of you. It's highly likely that some of us (me included) won't be able to watch "No Way Home" until digital relase, so when it's time for the Spoiler articles, please try to make the titles and thumbnails as ambiguious as possible my dude, I really don't want to stop visiting this site because of spoilers for a whole two months.

@Fares - While I will be posting spoilers, trust me when I say there will be nothing in the headlines or banner images of my articles. However, be warned that Sony could end up releasing posters, etc. that do reveal certain returns, etc. It'll be hard to hide those, unfortunately.

@JoshWilding - That's fair mate. I'm not gonna ask you to do the impossible. It's just going to become a minefield, so help us as much as you can as we go through it. Cheers!

Am I the only one who feels like Kate's fighting ability has been rushed?! She's rarely sore, has the ability to defeat various opponents that are older/larger/fighting for years and is just as good of an archer as Clint already it seems. I'm not super familiar with her from the comics so maybe I'm off here... Maybe she is just that good, even when she's young. She just seems overpowered too early and I feel like they missed an opportunity to add tension to the show, with having her being in danger at times. Maybe I'm wrong here... Just my thoughts...

@BlackHulk707 - She trained since she was a child, and has received trophies, along with her training for archery and other skills.

@BlackHulk707 - if I remember right, Yelena and Maya beat both they ass. The tracksuits had her cornered before Hawkeye came and saved her in the 1st(?) episode. She was basically fighting for her life to get away but she also has a bunch of martial arts belts and archery awards. She’s no push over but she’s gotten her ass handed to her as well

My only gripe with this show right now is how they are handling Clint's fighting. Its like they forgot he's one of the top hand to hand combatants in Marvel comics especially after taking on the Ronin title. In the show though he seems incapable of taking anyone on without use of his bow and arrows. While still subpar, they definitely handle this better in his previous appearances in MCU titles, and seem as though the Russos were correcting this mistake and pretty much had it fixed in Endgame. Now we're back to Clint being so-so at fighting. Other than that loving the direction they are going.

@RextheKing - wait what did he do in endgame that fixed this issue? He ran around with the gauntlet hiding or do you mean the Ronin stuff?

@LSHF - The Ronin stuff, while brief it did show his capabilities as a fighter. He did get the short straw for the final battle, with most of it being him playing keep away with the gauntlet.

I'm seeing lots of negative comments about this last episode. I thought it was great and checked all the boxes needed of character development between Clint and Kate but we'll see if it sticks the landing I guess.

Feels like some people are already turning on this series, even though imo this last episode was still great.

I have really enjoyed this series. None of the complaints made so far register with me. The only nit pick I have is one element of the tracksuit guys. It's the "bro". Its done very blandly and kind of flat. Compare it with "I am Groot" and you will have to admit it could have been something more.

Prediction for the next episode. Kazi, who disagrees with Maya, call the uncle. Kazi doesn't want to betray Maya, but he thinks she's not good for the gang.

So Kingpin doesn't send Wesley. He thinks Maya deserves a personalized treatment. He will talk to her.

I am still going back and forth on whether the decision not to have a more formal re-introduction to Yelena made sense. I'm wondering if the folks who did not watch Black Widow felt a little bit in the dark (no pun intended) on last week's ending, though I loved it.

So I was going to post this in another article thread but time got away from me and I figured that by now no one would read it (not that anyone reads my posts to begin with, but yet I continue to indulge myself): here's my theory on how this season/series might play out:

***SPOILERS IF YOU DON'T READ THE CREDITS***

- Kazi has known Maya since they were kids (it was pointed out in another post on here that in the credits for episode 3 that the little boy who was fighting with the bigger boy before little Maya took him on and schooled him was in fact Kazi). This implies that the have known each other and possibly been involved in "Uncle's" organization for a long time

***END SPOILERS/BEGIN SPECULATION***

- Kazi was hoping to become "Uncle's" number 2 one day. Maya's dad had that slot. so Kazi (being aware of the Ronin's activities against the criminal underground) used that opportunity to disguise himself as the Ronin and HE'S the one who actually killed Maya's dad, presuming that he would take his place (I mean, after all, why would "Uncle" promote Maya given her disabilities (my apologies to any and all deaf amputees reading this)). But "Uncle" DID put Maya in charge of the TSM and Kazi is jealous.

So, if my theory is correct, by the end of this show Maya will figure out that Kazi killed her dad, not Clint, (as well as the whole Yelena and Nat thing), so Clint is off to hook for those two things (as well as Kate) BUT that sets up the "Echo" show with Maya on a path of goodness now (more or less) and Kazi as the INITIAL bad guy (I honestly don't see him as being the main villain for the whole show).

Insert DareDevil and Kingpin and you have a hell of a show right there (for "Echo" I mean). Plus, what if the twist (or one of many) is that Kingpin actually ordered Kazi to kill Maya's dad (for some reason)? AND what if at the end of "Hawkeye" during the confrontation between Maya and Kazi, Maya somehow disfigures Kazi which causes him to don the clown makeup for the "Echo" show?

OR what if instead of hitting the cocaine first thing in the morning and coming up with these crazy theories I just stick to day-drinking like I usually do on Mondays and spare you all this mental flatulence*? What if?
