There was understandably a lot of concern for Jeremy Renner following his serious, near-fatal accident on New Year's Day near his home in Northern Nevada, but the actor underwent successful surgery after being airlifted to the ER, and regained consciousness a couple of days later.
Since leaving the hospital to continue his rehabilitation at home, Renner has been bringing his followers up to speed on his recovery via social media, and has now shared a very promising update.
The Hawkeye star Tweeted out a video of himself walking for the first time with the aid of an antigravity treadmill, which reduces a percentage of his body weight as his legs continue to grow stronger.
There was initially some confusion as to what actually caused the accident, but it eventually came to light that Renner was run-over by his own snowcat when he attempted to regain control of the vehicle after coming to the aid of his nephew.
“After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak with his family member,” Sheriff Darin Balaam said in an official statement. “At this point, it is observed that the PistenBully started to roll. In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempts to get back into the driver seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully.”
Renner still has a long road ahead, but this is obviously a positive sign that he will eventually make a full recovery.
