A Revealing New Synopsis For Marvel's THE INHUMANS Teases The Royal Family's Relocation To Earth

We were wondering why so many of the recent images from the set of Marvel's The Inhumans featured several of the main characters in civilian attire, and now it looks like we might have our answer.

ABC has released a new synopsis for the show, and it reveals that Black Bolt, Medusa and the others are hiding out on earth after a military coup back on Attilan:

After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

So, it seems Maximus will succeed in overthrowing his brother's rule right at the beginning of the story, and the series will deal with Black Bolt's attempts to reclaim his throne. Before that, though, it does sound like we're going to be spending a lot of time on earth as the characters adapt to their new environment.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the first appearance of Inhumans them travelling to earth because Crystal ran away? I better not see people complaining about this.

@ScarletWarlock - Maximus also lead a coup d'teat at one point and exiled them

Sounds like a decent way to go about it.

This happened in the comics

Before the complaints start coming in...

@BlackBeltJones - I mean, it's like a cornerstone of their early stories if I'm not mistaken. I've only read Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee's awesome stuff, and their interaction with the FF, but that was as a kid, but even then, I love the Attilan Game of Thrones like stories, but they can still do that while they're on earth. It's a good way to dive into their characters and deconstruct them, while also saving on budget. And if people actually think we're not going to be in Attilan, then they're wrong. There are literally set photos of them on an Attilan-like set, with Medusa in full on costume.

@ScarletWarlock - I think it's safe to say that the first two episodes (the Imax ones) are set it mostly Attilan as they contain the highest budget of around 40M each with the rest of the show being mostly set on earth. Alongside that, we've seen set photos of the royal family walking down pathway with people around them dressed in non-earthly garbs so I think it's safe to assume the Imax episodes (first two) mostly take place in Attilan:

@ScarletWarlock - Also if I'm not mistaken, I think we see Black bolt in his full costume with the white stripes and helmet in the image above. Couldn't find a higher resolution image so I'm not entirely sure.

@AbidNaga - It could either be his hair or helmet; it is hard to tell, unfortunately. But yeah, Attilan will be in the show, it has a humongous budget. People are just freaking out because they think Scott was afraid to put K'un-Lun in Iron Fist. LOL! Like they have a spare 10 million laying around per episode to just CGI and build sets for a humongous city, just to be used for a training flashback or something. That's the thing I hate about fanboyism, the delusion that making this shit is somehow easy. It's not, and they're ponying up some serious cash, and they were very smart about budgeting this show, because Marvel only has to account for paying 6 of the 8 episodes. We're going to see the characters be themselves, we're going to see them in costume, we're going to see Attilan. I'm just hoping the story and performances are good. I liked Iron Fist, but it's not without it's flaws. But I will say I really liked the first two episodes written by Scott Buck, especially episode 2, so I'm not as worried as others. But I'm also not a presumptuous pessimist who thinks they have all the answers(not always, at least).

@AbidNaga - I see it too

@ScarletWarlock - I wouldn't say Scott was afraid to put K'un Lun as the Marvel Netflix shows are shot in NY which is expensive and Netflix doesn't necessarily have a CGI Department for the marvel shows which makes sense when looking at their products. For each of the first two episodes, Inhumans has a budget that's close to Deadpool so they could easily explore all of attilan even considering that it's by ABC who have shown that they can do great CGI - Ghost Rider - so I have hope there.

I never watched Dexter so when people were saying how bad it was when Scott took helm I was worried for IF and Inhumans, especially IF since he's my favourite comic character but the show proved to me that he's not all that bad as I really enjoyed it. I'm hoping Inhumans is great as I'm interested in how they do the whole Imax thing.

@AbidNaga - He took over the original showrunner, and honestly, that NEVER goes well when you change drivers at 200 miles per hour. But yeah, people act as though he was afraid of K'un-Lun. Give me a break, these shows just simply don't have the budget. It's not practical to just waste millions of dollars on one set piece. Fans can be too demanding. But yeah, I'm excited for Inhumans. Could be awesome, or it could be just good.
