MARVEL’S INHUMANS Just Won't Seem To Die As Core Cast May Appear In Other Marvel Shows

Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb has recently made comments that imply that the Inhumans may have a future in the Marvel television universe, but is it the right path forward for the property?

After being scrapped from both the Marvel Studios and Television slate, Ike Perlmutter’s pet project (and answer to Fox’s mutants), Marvel's Inhumans, had been assumed to have fallen off the side of the moon entirely.

Like the unjust cancellation of Firefly before it, fans have been mourning over the loss of The Inhumans - but there is a chance that the characters that we have come to know and love over the past year may be making their return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb was confronted about the prospect of these characters appearing in another television property during a Reddit AMA for Freeform's Cloak and Dagger.

It would be intriguing to see how Black Bolt and Co. would factor in another corner of the MCU. Netflix seems far less likely than say, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. To be fair, Anson Mount and Iwan Rheon did do serviceable work with the material, and seeing the talented actors in Marvel shows with substance? That wouldn't be too bad. Regardless, I would not count on seeing these characters again anytime soon.

I prefer the “let’s pretend it didn’t happen” approach. Let Feige have crack.

I think the AoS writers and production team would actually do them justice, so I’m down for it.

@AgeofApocalypse - I hope they pretend it didn't happen and reboot the Royal Family in Shield. Black Bolt full costume and Medusa with her hair and some shred of nobility.

"Anson as Black Bolt, Serinda as Medusa and Iwan as Maximus are universally praised by fans"

@BIGBMH - Anson and Maximus were actually the only good thing in the show.....despite Black Bolt being seen as the villain and Maximus more heroic thanks to spectacularly bad writing. But the actors fared the best. Serinda as Medusa though....she was a misery every time she was onscreen.

@BlindWedjat - There was really no standout in this cast. Blackbolt lacked the enigmatic charisma he has in the comics, Medusa lacked the strength and regal, commanding presence that I associate with her, and Rheon as Maximus feels like a less interesting, watered down version of what he did as Ramsey.

I'm hoping this gets officially declared a non-canon experiment or something kind like that so Marvel Studios can reboot it as a film. It'll be harder to pretend it doesn't exist if any of the characters appear in anything that's definitively a part of the canon.

@MrDandy - I love Mount as an actor. When i saw him on the list as potentially being Batman, he was my favorite. When they cast him as Black Bolt, i was excited. When they butchered the character, I was pissed

I don't think Jeph Loeb simply saying, "I hope so" when asked if he thinks the Inhumans will be in other Marvel properties is credible enough to be considered anything more than a rumor.

I don't think anyone enjoyed the show; I sure didn't, but guys seriously, let's stop taking headline titling lessons from Wilding. If you want any form of respect on this site, don't shadow the most hated contributor on the site. While you may not have put your strict opinion of the show in the headline, you definitely let your feelings of the show bleed into it, where it has no place. Try and keep it at least semi professional.

@RextheKing - They're not here for respect, they're only here for clicks.

As much as people hate on Umberto Gonzalez, if he wrote an article about some potential rumor or breaking news, everybody would come to it, even if all they did was insult him in the comments -- in the end, dude still gets his money/attention.

I only want to see more Crystal. For reasons. But ideally they could just forget the show existed and give them a movie because it’s a property that really needs ra the kind of budget. And then we can see Black Bolt and Crystal and the rest in all their glory.

Let's just pretend this series never existed. Doubt the cast would want to come back. Damn show was an embarrassment.

They could work on AOS but they would have to give us more of the comic book versions of the characters. All of them were too de-powered to the point that they were basically just humans.

He literally says "I hope so". There is no story here. Wait is this a parody of a Josh Wilding article? Because if so, I like it.
