It looks like we should continue to expect daily updates on The Inhumans cast as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed today that Ken Leung has joined the series as Karnak. A relatively obscure character for a number of years, he's taken on a much higher profile in recent years thanks to his own series and the push Marvel has given the comic book adventures of the Inhumans royal family.

In the show, he will be Black Bolt's cousin and closest adviser. His gift is an ability to see the fault in all things – people,
plans, structures, everything. He’s Black Bolt’s most ardent supporter and strategist and is often seen as the royal family’s planner and philosopher.

He joins a cast that also includes Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, and Iwan Rheon as Maximus. A lot of key characters have yet to be cast, but Karnak is one comic book fans have been wondering about for a while now and this is a solid bit of casting.

"Ken brings both a wisdom and a power to the role that no one else could match. His Karnak will be awesome," said Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb. Executive Producer Scott Buck added: "Ken Leung has a great natural intelligence that reads clearly and will add depth and complexity to the very complicated character of Karnak."

You'll recognise Leung for his role as Admiral Atatura in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, not to mention appearances in X-Men: The Last Stand, and Lost. He also starred in The Night Shift on NBC for three years. With Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck in charge, the first two episodes of The Inhumans will premiere in IMAX theaters before then making the movie to ABC. What do you think of this casting?

@JoeMomma29 - This whole cast at the moment is looking pretty impressive, not sure about the Medusa actress, but she kinda has that detached/better than you stare that is reminiscent of Lena Headey in game of thrones, so maybe she can pull it off.

@JoeMomma29 - This was actually my most anticipated movie of the phase 3 slate, so pleased we are getting eight hours of them rather than a two hour movie. I''ve followed the Inhumans since there first appearance the FF.

Any guesses on who is playing Crystal guys???

@Spock0Clock - Thank God, I was starting to get a bit worried since they've started prodoction so late in the game.
Spock0Clock

@LeonardTheWise - This is around the same pace that fall pilots are being produced, and there tends to be some time after the pilot is filmed before it gets picked up for a series (and then the series usually airs in September), so this may well be a few months ahead of that schedule.

This is absolutely plenty of time, and hopefully they are going to leave plenty of schedule and budget for the late-season post-production and whatnots.

@LeonardTheWise - Yeah, normally a TV show shoots the pilot now, waits until April/May to hear if they've been picked up to go to series, then starts actual production on the series in mid-summer. So they're well ahead of the game with this series compared to normal television shows.

@Chewtoy - But surely there must be a bit more involved for the eps that are going to Imax? I would expect some cinematic cgi for that. Getting worried.

@Spock0Clock - Plus, they're just shooting eight hours, so they can do it.

Glad I'm not the only one who remembers him from SAW.

Speaking of which, I always though Tobin Bell (John Kramer/Jigsaw) would have been great as The Tinkerer (Though that may have been typecasting)
