TCA Panel For INHUMANS Got Seriously Uncomfortable With BATMAN v SUPERMAN Comparisons And A Testy Jeph Loeb
Inhumans held a panel at the TCAs last night but things got seriously awkward with a cast member comparing himself to #SadAffleck and executive producer Jeph Loeb snapping at critics asking questions.
Things are not looking good for Inhumans. Today alone we've had Jeph Loeb and Serinda Swan attempting to defend the series and even the director of the first two episodes has admitted that he didn't like the show's trailer. Well, things got seriously awkward at a TCA panel for the series last night which ended up being cut short by ABC when tensions between journalists and producers got high.
When one reporter asked star Anson Mount (Black Bolt) how he felt about the negative reception the series, he responded: "You’re making me feel like Ben Affleck right now," a nod to the infamous video of Ben Affleck's response to being asked about bad Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice reviews.
Here are some other cringe-worthy highlights from what went down during the Q&A session.
Ouch. Jeph Loeb would only serve to make things more awkward when he started snapping at reporters asking legitimate questions. One asked whether or not Inhumans had turned out as good as he had hoped and was met with this: "I can tell you that it was written on the material that you were given that the show that you have seen is not the finished product. If you’re asking me whether or not it was done, it’s not. So to be perfectly honest, I don’t understand your question."
When another reporter started a question by pointing out that the pilot episode they'd seen didn't seem well suited to IMAX, he replied: "I think you’re making an editorial statement, and I’m wondering what the question is." Is Loeb worrying because a potentially high-profile flop like Inhumans is going to cost him his job? It certainly sounds that way but we'll have to wait and see.
