We got three seasons of Jessica Jones, while the character also appeared in The Defenders. The first batch of episodes featuring the P.I. were well-reviewed, but the second and third seasons weren't quite as good (meaning fans weren't too upset when the plug was finally pulled on the series by Netflix).
It was definitely a shame to say goodbye to actress Krysten Ritter, though, and with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio rumoured to be reprising their Marvel Television roles, is there a chance she could follow them?
"I would absolutely just die to play Jessica again. I had the best time doing it and I just love her so much," Ritter told Screen Rant during a recent interview. "I'm so proud of that character. Not only because it was like a great role and she's such a bad-ass, but that character has really resonated with people in a way that I don't know who else has. Really, really resonated with women and girls, trauma survivors. It's just so, so big and such a thing I'm so grateful to have been a part of."
"So if there's ever an opportunity for me to put on those boots, I will be there in a flash."
She-Hulk would be a good place to reintroduce Jessica, but just because Kevin Feige appears to have plucked Daredevil and Wilson Fisk from Netflix, it doesn't mean others are going to follow.
There might be another big Marvel or DC role for Ritter somewhere down the line, but Jessica surely isn't entirely off the table. Rumour has it Feige is looking to do soft reboots of these characters, but for now, it's easy to see why the Man Without Fear and The Kingpin are a bigger priority.
